with the aforementioned automation reigning supreme, 10 percent of the pop. can work. the rest can live in fall-out shelters.

They have to have drs and plumbers and cooks or they die too. And farmers. And prostitutes.

i love my doctor, but she'd be near worthless as a doctor without the support of big pharma, and the insurance company to back up big pharma.

this survival stuff ain't gonna be as simple as it might sound coming from the mouths of self-promoting profiteers selling the apocalypse for profit.

I think green beans, onions, tomatoes, and squash sounds like a better deal.

Haven't had laying hens fpr several years now but the coop could be set right and chicks bought from a neighbor.

And no billions or living in a hole involved...

At some point all the gov debt around the planet is going to explode making life interesting for a while. Those guys won't make it long term even in a bunker.

My grandparents made it through the Great Depression with a Nitro Hunter shotgun and a turnip patch. I'm not half the man my granddaddy was, but if the world ends I would give it my best try.

You know what? If it gets to the point where the only way a man can survive is to live in an underground bunker like a damned mole, I guess I'll be ready to throw in the towel.

In the end, they'll curse God and die. That cursing God part will be their end.

People in the Depression kept cows, chickens, etc and a garden in their back yards. I'm too lazy to keep livestock, but I can raise half our food on my place without working hard at it. It's normal to have entire meals from the garden and lake or woods. I am able where most are not because I live in the country and don't have to work as much as most. A typical wage slave just doesn't have the time. Being unemployed gives back the time.

People have forgotten that you can have about the same quality of life raising your own instead of spending so much time commuting and working for someone else. The difference is in the availability of luxuries. These rich people have so separated from life that luxuries are life to them.

I'm not saying life would be better, but it wouldn't be the end unless your artificial ideals made you unable to cope.
