Hi friends.
Wanted to give you a "heads up" on the new Sierra green-tipped 165gr game changer for .308 rounds...
I just loaded up 10 rounds for my 30-06 using fed large rifle primer, Lapua brass and 55 grains of RL17.
I have a stainless Ruger model 77 MarkII with a custom 3 groove 11 twist benchmark barrel.

the first five rounds punched a ragged hole that was about .6".

I decided to do a small correction in order to get closer to my intended point of aim and take my last five shots, to see if I would still get a great grouping.

The five shot group was approx .435".

hmmmmmm..........

I don't fall in love with a given bullet just because of accuracy, as performance on impact means everything, if the round is relatively accurate for the intended game.
But, this looks dang-promising at this point.

Will continue with additional loads and shoot some two hundred and three hundred yard targets.

Cheers.

Thanks for the data. My 06 likes the 165 GK as well. I've been waiting for a few more 'used on game' performance before I switch to them. Shoot them into a few elk and post pics cool

My buddy is very happy with the accuracy of that bullet in his 300 Win. Mag.. I forgot what powder was used but if it's got excellent accuracy in that gun then it's only a matter of time until we see some "on game" performance.

Having similar results with 130gr TGK's in my 6.5 Creedmoor. Very accurate and consistent for hunting bullets. Hope to test on out on a Mule Deer in a month.
