This 300+ page book is about Air Force Combat Controller John Chapman who inserted with SEALs on an eastern Afghanistan mountain peak in 2002. They struggled to take the peak in an attempt at finding a lost teammate. Chapman was seriously injured in the assault and ultimately the others thought he was dead and they subsequently had to retreat/withdraw. Chapman regained consciousness and resumed fighting the enemy to save the lives of a rescue squad. Ultimately Chapman died from his wounds but was subsequently recognized with a posthumous Medal of Honor. He's the first airman in nearly 50 years to be awarded the Medal of Honor and the first non-SEAL to be added to the SEAL Team Six memorial.
Good book.
