Always been fond of that car. My HS buddy had a car just like that. Had been his Dad's. Was pretty fast for being a stock car. I had a 63 Fury. Push button trans on the dash.

That was the first car I bought when I got my first job when I was still in high-school . That was in 1966 and the car was 2 years old with 34,000 miles on it . The price was a lot of money for me $1400 . Mine was a convertible with 426 Wedge Head and 4 speed on the floor .It was a dark Blue color and had bucket seats with center console with built in Gear Driven Tachometer .
Everybody else were driving GTO's or Chevys and Fords . That was the best car I have ever owned and I wish I had it back . It had pretty good power and would hold it's own with most . All I ever had to do to it was 2 new clutches . I hot rodded around in it for 5 Years

I THINK ROGER WOULD HAVE LIKED IT , Jim

$60K seems pretty cheap for that baby.....

didn't see if it mentioned the motor was a 426, or 440 or even a high output 383...

said HP was between 570 to 590....

bet it drinks fuel like a trailer park Redneck drinks beer....

So Jim... was that car right hand drive since it was in OZ?

and was it made in the USA or Oz?

that would pretty interesting...

I lived in England from 63 to 66, and you'd occasionally see American cars owned by English folks..

right hand drive on an American car seemed pretty weird to we Americans over there...

Remember some business owner in our town had a 60 Cadillac with right hand drive...

Pic all the way to the right below the car. It's a 426 wedge stage 3.

A friend and I ran a built up one for 3yrs in a '62 Dodge Dart. Low 11's

Also lost two friends in one not 1/2 mile from the house.

Like I said "memories",

Seafire ,
I was born and raised in the good old USA . But my "MATES" here remind me that I have been over here for more than half of my life , so they say that they claim me now even though I still talk like a " YANK" . Jim

Nice car.

$100,000 meticulous restoration, and asking $59,998?

Maybe most of the cost was his labor figured into the $100,000. Go broke real quick selling something for less than you put in. At least break even on the parts.

Who knows, it's all speculation on my part. Maybe he intended on keeping it forever, and a life situation is forcing him to sell. It's his car. If he chooses to sell at a big discount, it's his business. I wish him and you well. smile

My brother did several of these ground up restorations.

'68 Chevy pickup.
'56 Chevy pickup.
'69 Camaro.

He's into motorcycles, scooters and quads now. smile

These things were 'sandbaggers' in the early '60's. Ugly little coupe with very little modification the little 383, with boosted typewriter tranny pressure, soldered weights on the centrifugal advance, home made torque bars on the axle and a flat tank half full of water in the trunk.... between stoplights, they just flat ass smoked the GTO's, Chevys and Ford police interceptors. Easy money on a Saturday nite, 'til they blew a u-joint.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.
