New on here - well kinda new. Joined a few years ago but didn’t participate much. Summer’s drawing to an end and hunting season is just around the corner. Just wondering who’s hunting what this fall. I’m from Alberta so we have to draw for mule deer, moose and antelope. White tail are “across the counter”. Got drawn for antlerless muleys but no luck on muley bucks, moose or antelope. Was drawn for muley buck last year (got a pretty nice one) so that won’t happen again for 4 or 5 years. I guess I’ll be hunting white tail, doe muley and birds this year. Might buy a black bear tag - just in case.....

Didn't draw any tags this year! Deer will be Western Oregon blacktail. Elk will be Cascade elk, or spike only eastern oregon. Always carry a cougar tag with me, we can hunt them year round.

I'll be out with the Shamanic Dream Team, operating out of our camp in the Trans-Bluegrass, hunting whitetail. This year, #2 son, Moose is going to be back in the line-up. He's also bringing #1 Grandaughter, Mooselette. That will make 4 hunters with 4 tags apiece, but freezer space for only 2 apiece. These guys are big; bucks go up to 300 lbs live weight. I've had doe that went over 170 lbs.

Just whitetails on the farm in Whitley Co KY this year. I still have a freezer full of moose from Newfoundland last year and life has gotten busy as we prep the cabin for sale this fall/winter (ok, likely in the spring). Well, likely a few planted pheasants as well.

3 of us will have small game licences, so grouse too.
Oh, & walleye !
Looking forward to lots of hormone/steroid free protein !

Elk in Colorado and mule deer here in New Mexico. Probably will buy a license for black bear, too, either here or in Colorado--or perhaps both...

Exotics in Texas. Already scratched off a few pigs, two axis and a blackbuck. Heading back for Aoudad or Sika, and some night predator hunting.

Whitetails and bear (fat chance, but still a chance) with a crossbow, with occasional opportunities for bald whitetails sprinkled in before Firearms whitetails and bear, Muzzleloader whitetails, more baldies, more crossbow whitetails, then finally in January four days of stickbow/sidelock ML whitetails and bear(!). There's also about a week of Fall Turkey in there somewhere, so if I see one while carrying my crossbow I can take a whack.
Bottom line is that I can hunt deer and bear with something every day from September 28 through December 31, even on Sunday now. No tags needed for Senior Lifetime License holders, except for extra deer tags and doe tags. Three buck limit, regardless of weapons used.
I'll buy doe tags for the days I require them, plus extra bow tags and maybe an extra Firearms buck tag, depending on how things go.
What fresh Hell is this?

Starting off with doves September 2 Then going to Alberta for ducks and geese late September. I can shoot three bucks and unlimited doe in Maryland. Will probably go to the pug’s family farm in Kentucky and hunt Whitetail unless I hear banjos playing, then I’m out of there. :-)

This seems to include more than just deer for folks, so here goes:
Still have yet to hunt or fill: 2 Wyoming elk tags 1 Montana deer tag 1 Wyoming deer tag 1 Wyoming antelope tag Himalayan Snowcock An absurd amount of pheasants, chukar, quail and grouse. I'll be a dog handler in Idaho for lions but doubt I'll buy a tag. May buy an Idaho elk or deer tag if I have a free weekend during the season.
Already got this year: 2 Wyoming antelope Wyoming black bear 2 Montana tom turkeys Iberian Red deer in Spain Iberian Mouflon sheep in Spain King Salmon and halibut in Alaska Willow and Rock ptarmagin in Alaska

I and my friend Len have both killed doe antelope. Opening day for doe deer is today, but it's hot so we are going to wait for a while for nay more hunting. My wife and I have 9 more tags to fill, and friends from Nevada have 6. An older friend of mine (81) needs help because of his age, and he has 7. So I am going to be REAL busy for the next 2 -3 months

As for me, just whitetails in S.E. Wisconsin cattail country on public land and gun hunting a bit in N.W. Wisconsin for deer. Next yr I surely will get a bear tag however for Wisconsin.

Deer and elk in eastern Oregon. I’ll have bear and cougar tag just in case. I’ll be Using deer season as a scouting trip for elk since J drew the same unit. I’ll have my boy with me so it’s going to be lots of fun. Fishing, shooting and what not. He’s only 8, and it will be his second deer season and he can’t wait. Last years deer we got on some elk that were still in rut. Had my cow call, and Called one in ... I think he is hooked. I’m a lucky dad

I am hunting deer and wild hogs in Florida within a 21,000 acre wilderness preserve owned by Manatee County. A hunter must comply with a few administrative details to receive a license to hunt the property but well worth it. 30-30 is a keeper!

September 28-29, taking my two (12 & 15 yr-old) sons deer hunting during youth-only rifle weekend in Virginia (home state for the time-being), like we have been doing for years. October 12-16, I will be rifle-hunting either-sex elk in this place on NF land in Colorado. October 19-27, I will be rifle-hunting these mule bucks and their friends on my land in Colorado, which is 20 miles away from the elk spot. Today, I drove up to and on my land and saw these five big bucks grazing. You can barely see them in the upper right. So, I drove past them and around and behind this rock on my land, which they were grazing just below.

I drove past them, parked the truck by my cabin, and went up on the rock. I couldn’t see them at first, but they were grazing in the trees just below the rock. After about 15 minutes, they bedded down in the trees under the rock. Last year during deer season when I didn’t have a deer tag, likely the same big guys would be grazing the meadow below the rock around a half-hour before sunset every day. I bought the land a few years ago, and I don’t think the deer have been hunted there for decades. One of them is going to end up on my wall and in my freezer, and it likely won’t take more than the first day. Only question is whether I should use my .340 Wby or give them a break and only use my .300 Win Mag. Some days last year, they only came within about 500 yds of the rock. So, it might be the former, as I shoot more accurately than any other rife. Typical three-shot 100-yd groups: Do I sound excited?

I have built a number of rifles. I have a number of tags. But like last year the wife will call when 4 tags are filled and say, "No more room in the freezers".

Hunting only in-state; Whitetail deer, coyotes, and if I’m lucky, maybe a bobcat.

We will be heading to lease this time next Friday. Put out some bait corn, wait on a pig, deer, maybe an Aoudad.

I have a Cow Elk tag for Colorado's 1st Rifle season GMU 12 (among others). I am hoping to be able to use it.

I've already been hunting doves. I didn't put in to draw anything this year, so it'll have to be whitetails, sheep, spanish goats and hogs on my lease in west Texas.
The lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part!

Pronghorn in north Texas in a few weeks. Are you booked with Sagebrush Hunts?

Thanks ..... The stock makes it work. I have two of those Browns. The other one has been on 4 different rifles (7mag, 30-06, 358NM & 300 H&H) and won't be going anywhere soon.
