Have a Leupold Alaskan 2 1/2 power in its shrink wrapped and sealed box for sale just as it left Leupold. There's not much to add as this pretty much describes the scope except to say that while there were more 2 1/2's originally made in the early 90's than the 4 or 6 power versions my experience has been that there seem to be far less of this model for sale now compared to the other two powers and one rarely sees the 2 1/2's come up new in the box. I believe all of them were duplex's and this one is so marked on the end label. There is a small rip in the shrink wrapping but no where near enough to jeopardize it's integrity thus assuring the scope has never been removed from it's original packaging. If you would like a picture I am happy to email such to you but as the scope can't removed without cutting the wrapping there's not a lot to see. $485 plus $9 shipping with insurance and tracking number. Thanks, Ed 719-495-6560

The Alaskans are one of the rarest of all Leupold scopes ever made, along with the M8-8x36mm made for Kimber rifles!

They are and gosh they look good on both vintage rifles (being are modern version of the old Lyman Alaskans but with better lens technology) and quality rimfire...

Forgot to mention that I have Leupold Alaskan rings in the various heights and will sell a set to the scope buyer if such is needed. Also have a set of original Lenard Brownell 7/8"s and a set of Weaver 7/8"s...

When did Leupold stop making these scopes? And do you know what year yours was made?

If my memory serves me right they were made slightly less than 2 years total during 1991&92. If I'm off it's not by much.

I can't check because the shrink wrap is still present around the box however the time period would make me believe they are friction.

Come on, you're going to regret not buying this new in the box 2 1/2X Alaskan...
