Have a 5 gallon bucket of Lino I use to add to sweeten up WW and lead scrap. Decided to re-visit the 22 Jet with cast and get the Hornet ready for vermin, hopefully with the supposedly destructive Lino at high speed.

Obviously, the 48 gr. LBT doesn't eat much of the Lino, which casts perfectly and doesn't require a pesky water drop (with a hopfully hot enough bullet) to be of sufficient hardness for full power Hornet speed. Using a load of 12.5 grs. Lil Gun. The load clocked close to 2,900. More Like 2,875 or thereabouts.

The two little dimples by the neck, to check zero.

I think it will work.

The 22 Jet/Smith 53 is always a fun round with a fairly hot cast load (7.5 grs. BlueDot). Why Blue Dot? Because every other powder listed is NASTY and probably a bit hard on the forcing cone area.

Same bullets, seated out there.

I shot the same dog at about 40 yards.

When I shot the Hornet @ 100, I did manage the rock by the lower left of the wood target at couple hits. The Jet, for a handgun, gets there RIGHT NOW!

And to top off the day, a gratuitous 45 Colt picture....

Thank you sir!

I remember in the book "Jacketed Performance With Cast Bullets" the pictures of the Linotype "bombs" from rifles. The Lyman manual also shows Lino peeling off in large chunks.

I think these were obviously expanding, but I don't know to what degree; maybe time for the wet phone books.

The gun is for the truck and (hopefully)shooting rodents under 120 yards, so up close I think it will be perfectly nasty!

Yeah, kind of.

I dont know if they're regulation or not, but coloring the center dot helps as an aiming pont.
Got em bulk somewhere.
