I realize a good many blacks were brought over here as slaves, but those people are long dead now. Their descendants have often been treated unfairly, but many are on the welfare train now, never to get off. Do we owe them anything? Isn’t it enough to be in the land of opportunity? They are certainly better off here than in Africa! How do you feel about reparations?

I'm 100% in favor of it. We need to address the debt owed.

Here is how I propose it

Establish the average net worth of every African American in this country

then compare them to the average net worth of their counter part in Africa

we'll pay the difference.

I believe we should be getting them the money they would have earned as an African living in Africa, paying whatever it is over the standard of living they have in America - minus their net worth as an American of course.

I want the African American community in this country to know that I fully support any lost wages they missed out on living in Africa.

They are Americans, born in America, the land of opportunity. The term African American is BS! We are all Americans!

We brought them over against their will, then we should send them back. That's reparations enough as far as I'm concerned.

Get a job or go back......your choice

Maybe the ones PAYING the reparations should be the descendants of the ones that SOLD them in the first place.

That's right Rooster, if anything they're American Africans, if they don't believe they have it made here, they can go spend 30 days in the African bush with their kin folk, IF they make it back here alive, they'll be kissing the ground on their way to the "EMPLOYMENT" office!

Most of them are getting reparation payments on the first of every month, that's more than enough.

I am in favor of paying out reparations. From that sum, blacks can pay me and others like me whose ancestors fought to "free the slaves" during the Civil War what those blacks feel their freedom is worth. I had three ancestors who fought for the North of which one lost a leg. That should be worth a premium and those who lost ancestors should be entitled to a larger premium. The amount of contributions should be public knowledge.

The funds can come from whomever first enslaved and sold the blacks that came to this country. It should also be open to those who feel guilty over the issue. Names and amounts should be public to "shame" the others who have not contributed.

Once monies are paid out, any and all laws, rules, statutes, programs, regulations, etc will be eliminated and all will be judged on the same scale.

I'm just waiting for my turn as a garden variety straight white man. Won't be long now until the damages pile up and I can file my claim.

I think white people need compensation for bringing them here and allowing them to enjoy the freedom and standard of living provided by the white people who faught and died to build the most free and successful society on earth. We white people have done nothing but pay and suffer for our generosity. Black People’s indenture even provided the stalking horse that allowed the red republicans to destroy much of our freedom. Where’s the repatriations for the death of hundreds of thousands of white people to end their servitude ? As a white person I’m the one owed reparations from black people.
