Funny looking.
It would make a fine club house however.

What are those funny looking sheds on stilts you are posing in front of? Deer box stands. These were extremely nice. What a lot of folks who have never been down in the southeast don't realize is just how thick the woods can be. They can be impenetrable in places. There is no still hunting or stalking throughout much of the deep south. It's sitting in stands and blinds looking over clearings. Nowhere near as much fun as spot and stalk in the mountains. The first photo in this thread shows how thick it can be. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/13796394/1

If Mahindra would import the scorpio pickup I'd take one. Back it 2010(?) Local guy bought a dealership, spent $150,000 and they backed out on bringing them to the U.S. Mini truck, diesel, 4wd, crew cab. For mid $20,000's? Hell yes.

Lets shift gears a bit here. What do y'all have on board for tools? Bear in mind I am somewhat limited on storage, but there is a small built in tool box. I am going to keep a hammer, slip joint pliers, crescent wrench, a small can of spray lube, and... Bear in mind I'll have back up tools nearby, just want to have those that I am most likely to need. Gloves, pruning clippers (I get annoyed with overhanging branches on some of my tractor paths), extra lynch pins of course, oil rag, screw drivers.

I've not heard many negatives about Mahindras, just not many dealers around here. We've had JDs and Kubotas at our gun club grounds for years.
Pair of JD 455 diesel mowers with over 2,000 hours on 'em and still going. Kubota L3130HST w/almost 1,800 hours, been a pretty good workhorse.
Had a FWD JD 850 for about ten years. Only issues were with idiots busting up the gears on it, traded it on the L3130 about 14 years ago. The 850 was made by Yanmar in Japan. All the other JDs have Yanmar diesels, including the new.JD 1023E sub compact we just got. It was between the JD and a Kubota BX24 something.
If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.

What are lynch pins?

Those clips that keep your implements from sliding off the 3 pt hitch. They have the circular spring that flips over the pin to keep it from falling out. Buy a dozen.

Keep pins. Pins. And more pins on tractor. Nothing like being in the middle of the woods losing a linch Pin. Channelocks. Hammer. Crescent. ( a real one. USA made)
Ps. Congrats!!!

Ps. Congrats!!! I am pretty excited about it. Thanks for the tips. Sounds like I need to get some extra pins.

I had to google lynch pin.
Those are the pins that constantly get rubbed off and lost. Or bent up way too easy.
Takes a little longer but I like a grade 8 bolt and lock nut. Get fancy and use a couple heavy washers.

Rubbed off is the right term.

Well,...if ya don't know how to pin on a 3 point hitch, you don't need an 8N.
To own an 8N you got to know how to hotwire it with a paper clip when the ignition switch goes to schitt when you're way out back.
It's not rocket science,...but it's 2 or 3 steps above hookin' on a grader blade.

,...got these yuppie tractors out there for sale these days. Now anybody can own one,.....as long as they know an old fart who can hook up a 3 point hitch.
If they don't,...they just get to ride around wigglin' the front bucket up and down.

Rubbed off is the right term. Dave, those are the pins that come on the spinners for a bale bed. Cows rub 'em right off. And as you are well aware they can be too easily lost on 3-point arms.

Sam,
Not sire about cows. But know the feeling of bush hogging along and lose a pin.
