As I understand it these have not been made for a few years, you fellas ever come across them new or top condition if so what is the price range?
Also anyone here shoot one of the 22 mags, like to hear your thoughts

You should be able to filter for sold ones on Gunbroker to get some idea of what the going price is. Prices here on everything are generally down a bit. Bottom line, as always, is what it's worth to you. Never cared for any of those much myself, so my bottom line on them is pretty low. Pretty good guns by all accounts, just not to my taste.
If you handload, it's pretty easy to make a ".22 magnum" out of a .223 or .22 Hornet with 5744, Trail Boss, or some pistol powders.
What fresh Hell is this?

...good luck...
I had one I bought about 15 years ago for $120.00...sold it a few years ago while downsizing the .22 rifle collection for about $160. Last one I saw sell around here was $225 I think...
Not sure where you would be able to get a 5mm Remington Magnum barrel for it unless you have a local smith who does that kind of work...

I bought one years ago with the plastic stock, which I hated. So I sent to the company for a replacement wood stock (which you could order separately back in the day) and they sent me one of the most beautiful BIRCH stock sets you can imagine. FULL of tiger stripes, both stock and FE. dense and heavy. Shot really accurately and still does--I sent it to my son in VA when CA required non-lead ammo for hunting--like several of my .22 WRMs, it hated the nonlead ammo. (Fortunately several of them handle it OK--my S&W 651 actually loves it....).
Was Mike Armstrong. Got logged off; couldn't log back on. RE-registered my old call sign, Mesa. FNG. Again. Mike Armstrong

Well a mate sent me a message today about a break action H&R 22 magnum at a store here. Followed up and it turned out to be a model 157 the one with the full stock, I understand made for only one year, so I jumped on it probably paid way to much it would be around $380.00 USD. I'm ok with that as its in great condition, very god case colors and had little use, 1976 I believe.
Never seen a H&R handi rifle in 22 magnum down here and certainly never seen a 157 in any calibre

Johno That sounds like a pretty good score. There can't be too many on the island. I have never seen one with the full stock. Have you shot it yet?

I'd love to see some photos of it, if possible. Like Paul, I've not seen a full stocked one.

Johno: I have 2 (two) of these heavy barrel NEF Handi-Rifles myself and am very happy with them. Both accuracy wise and for "handiness"! But mine are in calibers 17 HMR and 17 Mach2. In addition to my Rifles being rather accurate (and the triggers are crisp and light) I have mounted scopes on 2 (two) other NEF Handi-Rifles in 17 HMR for friends and then tasked to "sight them in". My friends Rifles were pleasantly accurate as well. I have never had anything to do with one of these in 22 Magnum. To tell the truth if I were to come across anymore NEF Handi-Rifles in 17 HMR, 17 Mach2 or 22 Magnum I would be a player for them. Don't recall seeing one in 22 Magnum, ever, before. Good luck in your search. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
