I would love to know more about this gander model! Any pics?

Here is a Gander Mtn Guide .243. I did have the stock painted and the bolt Ti fluted by Kampfeld Customs. Great rifles IMHO, this one was a fine shooter, sadly I sold it a few years ago, I'd take another if I found a good clean one.

I do remember the Mountain Guide. Us to drive by a Gander everyday going to and from work. Didn't stop often because of their higher pricing. I did stop one day to get some licenses. Strolled thru the back of the store where the guns were on display. Notice the Mountain Guide with a "Special Price, Buy Me Now" and asked about it. Turns out the Mountain Guide wasn't fairing to well in this particular area so they had reduced the price. I asked if they had more than just the display gun.. Gun counter guy said they had 3 or 4 in various calibers. I bought them all. To top it off, I forgot to buy the licenses I'd originally stopped for!

Some time after that I traded/sold one in 243 or 308 to a co-worker. The rest remain in the gun safe.

I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

Yes- Cabela's had the same rifle in blue- I bought one here on the Fire in 7-08. Wish I would have kept it!

Cabelas Mtn Guide was a blued/chromo rifle, the Gander Mtn Guide was a stainless rifle. Other than that same/same.

I had a 22-250 lvsf and I didn't like the stock either. I put mine in a TI take off from a first gen SAUM to. It had just a little float in the barrel channel but like everyone has said it was a nice rifle in the first gen ti saum stock.

Too bad Remington can never put together things the way we want them. If they did some fluted 22" stainless sporters in fast twist barrels with Ti stocks I think they'd sell a few. They should do 22, 6, and 6.5 creedmoor twisted right and fast twist 243, 22-250, 223, and an 8 twist 7-08.

While I'm dreaming give all SA 3" mag boxes and do a LA version with a 3.9" box 8 twist 280 ai, 28 nos, 7 mag, and some 8.5 twist 30 cal stuff.

I have a faux mtn guide as that I made from a stainless laminate 7-08 that i dropped in a Ti stock. It shoots sub moa with 162 eldxs. Nice gun, I just always seem to take something else hunting so it gathers dust.

Ive got an LVSF on the way, hasn't gotten here yet and Ive got a B&C Alaskan stock already on the way, plus bottom metal to convert it to BDL...

I like the basic idea of the LVSF but like others, I think it needs some changes...

A 22" LVSF in an edge fill McMillan Classic with an inside the trigger-guard/hidden mag release AICS bottom metal and a flush-fit AICS mag (like Curtis Customs) would be a real nice package. It would also be noticeably more $ to produce and probably wouldn't sell enough for Remington to do well on it......but it would be nice!
