I will be hunting Rancho Parisima mid August. If anyone is interested I may lead a group trip back down. I have hunted near by and it was easy to shoot 300 dove in a half day. If you really worked at it a thousand is possible. My shoulder limited the number I wanted to shoot. Hope this link downloads OK, I am cyber challenged. https://mail-attachment.googleusercontent.com/attachment/u/0/?ui=2&ik=617f870e04&attid=0.1&permmsgid=msg-f:1639618710896834054&th=16c11887ce16f606&view=att&disp=safe&saddbat=ANGjdJ_00JoJwp6HG3uvR8rzqJYVIWycryCDFNWx8od70M8e8lSXJ--tUyiQ3kHKzqCwU0ThIfYhZPX-lDLl8xK_V5jigH8xY-LVqFVu1OOG_w4jrdlD3jAbYnulIid-ePzrM5ZQl92MGhsHCU_cY5ey4mPpB_Otv3X7Xv6sU8WZSD_CjxSVEV_MiFgPHfMCL7phou3wiP5UEFgQF_7h2_mqFeOvcD27Jd07al8B9EUmRfBrpAoEK4xEST7WXGrLwVacgxu1FKiKYmBLj7l8Q4gtXQJkS9v-eKUPdpnk4Et2hv5HwTmh4fzsEmA8ZwzhO0SYl1GlZRYsSk-0iBTK7jzbwSyE2PG-zQmZ4ag2Pyf-o4GjjbGwwHf1KGzn43ILZNUalvHMCUyfUPUgptV6sjWhzSH6raux6FOv0SyfdDW-v2MFR3Nu2M4rmGHaQFYmRR0oohHLTYhksKz00yCvWJP58X0TImo-rKueuKPcP2Jhh0RZFg7N-S0sqbKdz2ao6ogPKFrlNyvVArmaVh9SFOPHlN7wII8xlfYNvj0qIuyadcVvdrK9oVZRKUsXS4WbrDUIgzv85Tl55bjL9hxsk-ktdRWXirvWOWwJq2gwf8wfEqCe82TWos_olDunLPCUA2DfXwwgl_pdhajWmajpDCwt0Fo508UmwcUwaZ_i0A

Number of doves down there are crazy! I remember hunting with Senator Lloyd Bentsen and his brother Calvin back in the day when I was a teenager! You didn't even have to actually aim as the flocks were so thick.

We had an excellent hunt. It was like going back to the 1950's when my Dad would hunt in Mexico. The Ranch House is rustic with no air conditioning. Nights cooled down and it was only a problem when trying to take a siesta mid day. There is a Hotel with AC about 4 kilometers away. The mix of species made it interesting. There were: Red Billed Pigeons, White Wing, Eurasian, White Fronted, Morning Dove, Short billed Pigeons and a few others. Half or more of or bag would be the Red Billed pigeons which are almost the size of the common Rock Pigeon.

This is not a lodge type trip and only for the more adventurist types. It helps to speak at least some Spanish. I highly recommend it and hope to go back soon.
We were handicapped by having only the two of us hunting most of the time. More hunters would have helped. The only large bag taken was when we had a group of seven hunters and we took somewhere around 600 birds in a couple of hours that day. The sorghum was just starting to get ripe too and hunting will be even better in a week or two. The bird boys kept saying there were only about half as many birds as last year, still there were thousands of birds.
