5 rounds at 100 yards


ArmaLite in .223 Wylde, 1:8 twist
Factory trigger
Leupold 4.5x14x40mm cranked all the way up
Midway front and rear bag set
Fixed Ace skeleton stock with 1” pad
Hogue grip
50 grain JHP American Eagle AE223G

The gun weighs 9 lbs before the scope
The ammo is not made for terminal performance
But it’s sure fun to reach out and make tight groups

Well damn, now go shoot that black rifle challenge. We'll be the judge of how precision it really is.

If it's shooting that good with AE's, try the fiocchi 50gr vmax loads.

That’s a very nice group with that ammo. Like JM said you should try some of that fiocchi I’ll bet you like it

That rifle appears to be a bug-holer.

Might shoot a decent group, with a better trigger. ;-)

I have been getting excellent groupings (clover leaf groups) in three different rifles using Remington Premier Accutip 55 grain. I buy it at Target Sports USA online for $11-12 per 20 rounds.

Shoot a bunch of groups before you come to conclusions. FWIW.

But that one group is a nice one.

Got a cannon carriage to roll that "AR-15 carbine" around on???

Try several different brands and weights, that one shoots good but there might be a load that will go tighter. It’s always good to have a plan B load that shoots well if you can’t get plan A loads
