I can’t see what it does that the hundred dollar Weaver 2.5-7X doesn’t.

Ha. Well, there is that.

In truth they absolutely needed a plain duplex reticle scope. They tripped a bit with the eye relief for some, but it’s not an issue in use. Where they screwed up is not in offering a BDC reticle, but in NOT offering the mil quad reticle right after the duplex.

There are a bunch of SWFA’s that have been sold because of a few people people putting obscene use on them and sharing the results. The problem with the UL is that those people aren’t interested in a SFP, BDC scope with MOA adjustments. So there hasn’t been that use put on them, and consequently there hasn’t been the push that there could be for them.

Alaska Lanche has as much use on an UL as probably anyone, yet had they offered a MQ/mil adjustment model there would be half a dozen dudes on this board alone with thousands of rounds on them by now.

As always, it's going to boil down to whether or not they see money to be made by putting a MQ and maybe a top turret on the little bugger. You'd know better than most about that.

For certain they've filled a need for the rest of us that want a light, compact, reliable scope. I hope they sell a bunch.

It is better optically and the BDC reticle is much better in low light than Weaver's plex. Beside, unlike the Weaver, it is still manufactured and supported. Weaver is out of the optics business.

Also. all the Classic-V 2.5-7x32 scopes I see for sale are in the $250 range. Where did you find them for $100? Even the rimfire 2.5-7x28 Weaver seems to run around $150.

Natchez seems to keep them on a rotating sale schedule. Either the V7 or Rimfire version are often priced at from $99.95 to $129.95, which is what I paid for my V7, as yet unmounted.

I'd rather own the SWFA, rather pay for the Weaver. Either would probably be sighted in at the top end, then hunted at the low end.

Found it. $125 for the V7 is very good. I am not sure if Vista will still warranty these, but at this price I am not sure I care.

R stands for "radius".

Diameter is double that.

Aviator,
PM me if you want one sooner. I have an extra I’m realistically not going to get mounted anytime soon and happy to send it your way as long as you replace it come Thanksgiving sale ...

I've been thinking about doing the same thing.

Was hoping one would pop up on the samplelist, but I haven't seen any yet.

I was really hoping they'd do one in Mil adjustments and MQ reticle, but I'm about to give up on that and just give the duplex a shot.

I love mine on a 6x45. Adjustments were perfect. Have one on a 25-204, too....that I haven't zeroed yet.

Kinda how I see it. Same with some other closeouts I've picked up. What's to lose? So far, so good with all of them.

Not Black Friday prices but they are having an 11% off sale this weekend with free shipping which makes the duplex ~$310.

Actually, Chris at SWFA designed this scope. They offer a "BDC" style reticle as well. I think i may have to try one on my 10/22 bugout rifle.

Nice sponge job, I don't my TC Compass stock. It's topped with a SWFA 6x.
