I have SS Remington 700 in 221 Fireball.
It has a fluted bbl and a plastic varmint stock.
Leupold Vari-XIII 4.5-14x40 AO gloss scope.
What is the approx. value of this rifle and scope?
I also have RCBS dies, brass, Hornady 40 grn V-Max.
to go with the deal.
Thanks

Sounds to me like you have an LVSF....

Touch better than a plastic stock. They are bell and Carlson IIRC. I paid 650$ for mine with brass, couple hundred bullets and dies.

Can’t help you on the scope.

From what you describe, it sounds like a LVSF- if you want to look up what they’ve sold for on gunbroker

I have one and I believe I paid 650. Not the most desirable caliber, as the larger calibers bring the most money, especially the .243.

You are right about the stock, much stiffer than plastic.
Also a wide forend.
Scope is in nice condition also.
Thanks

I saw an LVSF in 22-250 at our local Gender Outdoors over the weekend in the used section. It was in excellent condition, included Leopold bases & rings, and was priced at $650 with an additional 15% off sale.

The last couple I’ve seen sell around here in 221 fireball sold for upwards of $800, and that was just for the rifle. Market wasn’t as soft as it is right now, and they were in excellent shape.

Last couple times I was in a gun shop up in Tucson, they had a LVSF in .221 FB on the used rack. Gun looked to be in pretty good shape, other than the sticky pad. Also had the wart. Asking price was $599. Probably get it out the door for 550ish.

My bare LVSF in .17 Rem sold here for $720. I considered it a bargain.

I would say if all is in excellent condition, the rifle $900, and the scope and rings would be from a low of $350 to $425.

So ask $1400, and take $1300.

Sounds like he has a Remington VSSF with the plastic varmint stock. They didn’t have a HS Precision stock. They do have a 26” stainless fluted barrel. I think the LVSF is more like 22”.

Original LVSF don't have a floorplate
Original LVSS has a floorplate
A picture would be a plus,
