I know Docter scopes have a very good reputation. The Inception 2-12X50 with illuminated #4 has my interest. However, the only weight I could find online indicates it's 16.5 ounces which I find hard to believe. I'm also not wild about the state 10 year warranty.

I'm not rushing out to buy one but would love to hear any thoughts on it.

That sounds a lot more like it.

It looks to be a re-branded version of Docter V6 I tested a couple of years ago.

Noblex has been slowly re-branding their product line ever since the phased out the Docter name.

Thanks, Ilya. I enjoyed the article and found it very helpful. I'd be curious to know if they changed the reticle from the old design and if the CA is better managed. Hopefully they are serious about the US market .

Actually, the Noblex N6 represents the continuation of the V6 line and is among their top hunting scope models. The Inception is their entry-level offering.

Ed is right: I did find a Basic 2.5-10x50, a Unipoint 3-12x56 and a V6 2-12x50 on extreme closeout earlier this year. These are original Docter models and not Noblex, though they assure me they are going to continue the quality and even make upgrades/improvements at certain levels.

I've gone through LOTS of scopes looking for low-light performance and illumination that suited my usage. So far, I can tell you that the Basic and Unipopint (same glass but different style of illumination system) have found permanent homes in my gun safe. I can't speak much of the V6 as it did have to go back to Germany, but I should have it back any day now. Nonetheless, the Basic and Unipoint are absolutely superb.
