I have been told the weight of insects on the earth far exceeds the total weight of all mammals combined.

Then when we run out of food we can eat insects..

Disease, war and and starvation will eventually control population growth. Already is in many places.

Doctor Norman Borlaug did his part in the Green Revolution many years ago, he voiced concern about population growth even then.

We are in a population bubble, a huge bubble. All bubbles burst. It most likely won't be the end of humans, just a radical adjustment down to a sustainable level. There are any number of things that could pop this bubble and if (when) it happens it will be fast.

Correct. When city sanitation , water, and deliveries shut down it won't be long. I went to Michigan in 1991 and I was amazed at the massive number of 18 wheelers going into Detroit.
