I have a very nice model 97 12 ga... Made in the 1950's.. I often use it on sage grouse, and other game.. Lovely old gun... Yesterday we were out for grouse, and I spotted a worthless skunk crossing the road... When I tried to pump a #5 into the barrel, the gun jammed.. On closer inspection, the plate that lifts the shell from the magazine to the barrel dropped down farther than usual... If I work the action very fast the gun loads fine, but I want it fixed to operate correctly.. Any one know what the problem might be, and who could repair this??? Grabbed my 870, but the skunk got into a grassy ditch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
