"1 issue I just thought of, is that it needs to be light enough to move into the back 40, but not so light as to blow over"

Check around, see if there are any small utility trailers for sale cheap? The tiny ones with small wheels don't fetch much, used. Built a blind on one, then you can move it around at will. Buddy of mine had one to haul his motorcycle on and offered it to me for free, when they retired and moved to FL some years ago. I wasn't smart enough at the time, to take the damn thing. It folded up so ya could store it against a garage wall.

I've seen them on FB marketplace and Craig's List for $200 or less.

Can't buy a drop of rain here in our part of PA. Been moving dirt in the woods all summer. Rainy first half of summer, now the dirt is like flour.

Aw that's too bad! We'll be there Sunday around 8. If you're out there stop by and say hi. Can't wait to get some trigger time. I live down in Prior Lake. I'd get on the list for a membership, but it's just too far for me to justify regular trips up there. Sure is a nice facility though. I really appreciate how they are about following the rules.

Just got back from the rifle range. No excuses now if somebody misses! I joined my son's two buddies this morning. We had a good range session. The Model 99 .243 is all set. Really looking forward to hunting with these young men. They keep me wanting to be in the woods. A good bunch of guys.

Got out and cleared lanes and put up some cameras with the boy yesterday. Did some shooting at a range by where we hunt.
Beautiful day in the woods.

Today is my step-daughters fall softball state tournament.

Best of luck to your step daughter Tom. The main thing is, I hope she doesn't get hurt.

I umpired two slowpitch games yesterday in a charity tournament. Had a lot of fun. All four teams were fun to work with. No controversial calls. I really enjoyed it.

This coming season will be our 13th deer season at camp chickenbuck. I've never seen near as much water as we have right now, not even during spring thaw. There is basically nowhere to hunt without waterproof knee boots. We've been getting pounded regularly with a band of weather, I believe somewhere between 14 and 16 inches in the past 10 days. There's just no hope for the water to go down before deer season. It's pouring rain as I type this, storms forecast for all day today.

That's gonna raise hell with the road. Are the ditches filled up on the driveway? I can imagine getting back to your stand will require some waders if it keeps up.

The ditched road is holding up although we have some new beaver sign. So, when trapping starts up we;ll have to take care of that again.

Been a busy month, so finally shot the bow. Everything grouping well, just an inch or two high. Glad I got it readjusted. Other than that, checked some cameras, found s few good bucks, set up a few stands, and repaired the chimney. 5 more days....

The swamp squid's territory has expanded, all the way to the yard of the cabin. Need to carry a firearm to the out house.
