I believe it has to do with the "man cave" which I also do not understand. That one is simple enough Dave, "man cave" is American for "shed"....you wouldn't know this as you have not been exposed to English. The small buildings where I keep firewood, lawn mowers, yard tools and junk that needs to be thrown away. Those are sheds. Correct...and in the English speaking world they are a man's sole avenue of escape, a tranquil void if you will where whiny women dare not venture for fear of occurring rightful wrath.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

That why one needs: lots of land[get out of hearing range without leaving 'home'] or a tractor, or both[preferably].

i got my man card in the mail in 1968. it said something about greetings, neighbors, and the president. every garage i have had had a space that the wife was afraid to enter so i guess you could call that my man cave. she just calls it the junk room

Also correct, but apart from rural Australia and rural America, where else can one achieve this blissful nirvana...don't bother considering the Canucks as they are already frozen husks.

I can not recall being issued, or ever being asked to show a "Man Card". So, what's with that? Most girls, like you, rarely are. Be grateful for that.

Forget about it...that is what the left does, turns up śhits in the doorway and slides out the back way before the smell is noticed.

Everyone starts out with a man card.
When you do shît like maintain hummingbird feeders or brag about your favorite Pyrex casserole dish, or your lab reports revealing Low T, admitting that you pay Jiffy Lube to change your oil, etc, etc and other offenses
Any of those such topics discussed ON A HUNTERS/SHOOTERS WEBSITE, we start punching holes in it.
Holes equate to loss of paper, diminshing amount of real estate of the card. Eventual revocation of all things considered masculine about your person.

Now to be serious for a short time. There was a carpenter, near here, his first name was Frances. Frances was of slight build, and spoke softly. He built houses mostly alone, but two local men would help him from the time they got off work at 5 until after dark.
When he said something about building, I paid heed because I knew he was right. Other than the first name, that could pretty well describe Audie Murphy's physical appearance and demeanor...

Congratulations. The criteria you lay out for "man cave", is my world. I'm thankful to not need a hideout.

It is reasonably good, but I have an advantage in that I was schooled by Nuns who would have reamed my arse with their boot had I even dared not speak correctly. Congratulations...you have made it.
