Reviews seem to favor these rifles, but I can't find anyone who actually owns one. I had one in my hands at Sportsmans Whse, but the counterman didn't think they had sold one??? WTH?

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

I have one in 7m08. I highly recommend. Love the trigger on this rifle and the action is slick as glass.....very well engineered. Detachable mags cycle very well. Mine likes nosler ballistic tip 140 gr. A very accurate rifle that will out shoot most owners. Last I looked sportsmans had them for $600. Worth every penny. You wont be disappointed. Note: LOP on this rifle is almost an inch longer than what youd normally find on competing models.

I'd like to find one in a 6.5 prc if anyone knows where there's one new under $600 or so. I've seen the similar mauser m18 under $500 new but I like the sauer stick better.

Thanks for the comeback. I like the stock proportions but noticed I would have to shorten it up for eye relief and normal hunting clothing. I was a teeny bit concerned about the twist rate...kinda sorta looking for a Swede or a Creed shooting something in very high b.c., at modest velocities, possibly the 143 gr and I can't believe the Germans don't have it figured to the nth degree...but it does say 1 in 8.66". The F class guys, who nit pick more than we hunters would claim this is heresy. I find it hard to believe I would ever shoot an animal at more than 400yds with a dead rest. I couldn't care less what happens at longer ranges.

I have one in 6.5 PRC. A bit heavy but not so plastic and I like it. I shoot 130 gr Accubonds at 3050 fps with my H1000 loads that group .67 at 100. I cut it down to 13.5 lop with a limbsaver pad and have a Nikon Monarch 3 2.5 x 10 BDC on it. I shot a sub-moa group today at 300, made a couple calculated changes based on POI and verified at 400 using the BDC solution per my app. The rig is good to go for elk season!

My research on both the sauer 100 and mauser 18 showed the 100 stock had a small bedding block at the forward action screw. If I'm not mistaken I dont think the mauser stock has this. I handled the mauser 18 at academy where it was only offered in 6.5 creedmore. I really wanted a 7m08 and was able to get the sauer delivered to a lgs for less than $500. Very happy with the way it worked out.

Texson, Got an old 9.3 for sale as a matter of fact. Can't get anybody interested. I like it but, reality is, I will never get to go moose hunting.

J P Sauer & Sohn, '98 Mauser , I think proof date is 1927, Octagon 23 5/8 bbl, full rib, bright shiny bore, rifling well defined. Weaver K-4 post on the original claw mount bases, but my crudely made 1'' ring adaptors. Utility grade straight walnut stock was over sanded and refinished at some point. Double set triggers, mauser leaf safety and left tang safety. 8 1/4 pounds loaded, scoped and slinged. I bought it when I worked in AK in the '70's, never got to hunt. It's not a collector, just a shooter.. Only thing I ever shot was a Russian fishing buoy. I hauled it for 8 yrs, Ketchikan to Shemya to the Slope. Anyway, I want 900 bucks...but from your name, it's a long ways to your house. If you are interested maybe I could figure out how to send photos to a personal email, I'm no computer guy but I do manage to get scope photos on ebay occasionally.

I keep hearing about good deals and clearances on the 100's but no one will say where. I've PMd a few guys but no one will say where they are on sale at. I guess they're planning on picking up a few more. I might just get the Mauser since I found them under $500.

I believe Eurooptic has had the Sauer 100 on sale, along with the M18.

Sportsman's Warehouse is one site that has had certain calibers on sale for $599 (.308, 30-06, a few others). Regular price is $699. I'm mostly interested in a 7mm-08, but for some reason it and I think it was .243 are both listed at $759. This has held true on other websites as well. I've seen various calibers listed on Gunbroker for much less on occasion, but lately they're around $640 and up.

What model is that Fotis? Factory threaded barrel is something I wouldn't mind. I don't need a Camo pattern. I'd set a Camo rifle down to pee and probably never find it again. If I don't find a deal on a 100 I may just buy the M18. Then I'd be tempted to buy a zp5 Minox for half price.

Took my first deer with the sauer this weekend. Was truly surprised when the 2# trigger fired and the 7m08 recoil was almost nuttin. The deer didnt have a chance to feel surprise......Great combo for anyone wanting less recoil....
