Most everyone has a ATV now. I have one, sold my jeep in February to my son in law, but bought it back last week. He ran across a great deal on another wrecker for his business. He needed cash, so I bought it back. He put new seats, overhauled the engine, and a new soft top. I sold it for 3000, bought it back for 5000. I thought I did great. All that work for 2000.00. I took it to the deer lease last weekend.

Anyone else still have a jeep for hunting??

Yes,I sort of do. I drive a 4dr one for daily driver and lots of hunting. I have owned 13 over the years and can not see myself without one. I use a small trailer to haul game out and other things.I do not worry about scratches or dents, these things happen

1945 Willys MB was my father's hunting rig. It's not as big as some of the side by side I've seen, and I think it gets around better.

I’ve had 6 off the road only jeeps. If I was doing it all over it would be a mule or ranger. Hasbeen

I had one. I went to an atv in 1992. Still using atvs. Sometimes I think about a ranger or some similar type but I always end up
thinking a ranger creates more problems than it solves.

I am fascinated by those who think spending 10-15-20k on an ATV is preferable to spending the same on a hunting Jeep or a used pickup or what have you. The latter options seem much more useable, certainly in this climate than the ATV's. What's the attraction there? Im interested to learn.

We think alike.

A Jeep could go about anywhere I need to drive.
Doesn't usually need a trailer.
And can be used as on road transport.

I want a Mahindra Roxor in the worst way, but it’ll never get the use my atv does for hunting. I use them in the woods. A Jeep couldn’t fit down many of the trails I use. A Jeep/truck would also rut up our muddy roads in the wintertime in a way that simply isn’t workable.

It is a crazy amount to spend on an ATV and I don't have one. However, I've used a bunch of them and no pickup, jeep, or whatever, can cover the country as fast or as nice as a nice SxS or 4 wheeler. We have roads here that take all day in a pickup or suburban, etc. And take 25% of the time to get around in a buggy. Mud and snow that forces you to chain up your pickup no big deal in a atv. Snow drifts slap on the tracks. Which is more money I get it. But they have a use even if it does cost a bunch.

I have a 1991 YJ gets me most anywhere I need to go, and didn't cost $15,000 and don't require a truck and trailer, another $30,000. So looks like I'm ahead $45,000.00

'99 TJ Sport, bought it new and just hit 200k. Doesnt use a drop of oil.
This rig has been down about every logging trail in norther Mn. Many hunts in North and South Dakota, Montana and Idaho.
I see no need for a SxS. A good four wheeler is nice to have though.

We have a POS CJ with the Buick V-6 and 3 speed tranny. We also have a Samarui that is just great. I personally use my 4wd 4dr Duramax as the oil company fixed our roads and 4wd ain't needed now.,

I switched from low end ATV to SXS back in 08[?]
Yamaha Rhino 660 under $9K new.
Hip started giving me trouble anytime I rode the ATV.
I use the Rhino near daily on my little 75 acre plot-o-Appalachian mtn land.
I ride it in places that I'd not want my street legal vehicles to go.
It's no wider than many of todays ATV's, has bucket seats and a steering wheel along with a bed for the dog or firewood.
