I have read that Velcro was invented by a man that had just returned from hunting.

Military surplus BDU's. First started hunting in 98, I bought 5 sets of tops/bottoms. Still wear them every hunt. They are quite tough. I think I might have paid $100 for it all.

BDU pants when it is hot. When it is cooler, it's generally blue jeans or Wrangler cotton cargos from WalMart. I keep a few pairs of jeans an inch bigger in the waist so they fit well with a base layer underneath.
Now with even more aplomb

For cool/cold weather I have some Eastern Block surplus military winter dress pants. They are not lined but are of a heavy gauge wool. With a base layer underneath I stay pretty warm even when it is darned cold out and they have nice deep pockets. I bought 2 pairs about 15 years ago for about $10 each at the local surplus store. Probably have gone up since but I'll wager they are still a bargain for what you get.
