He doesn’t have much of an outdoor back ground and she’s taught him quite a bit...they had them both skinned and hanging within an hour or so... and they’re already cutting meat this morning...it’s great as a father watching her do it all from start to finish by herself... and she’s only 16...

Good work! Always nice to see teenagers be successful!

It's been a tough mule deer year for a lot of folks, on the west side of the state at least. A lot of unpunched tags.

I got a good buck near Bondurant yesterday evening, but I know a lot of pretty good hunters who look to be eating their tags this year, unless they can find one in the units that close next week. Most of the Wyoming Range units closed today.

It’s been a weird year that’s for sure... been seeing deer places I’ve never seen them before... everything looks really good and we’ve had a very wet summer... but the animals sure aren’t in the areas they usually are... the kids deer had a ton of fat in them... more then I’ve seen in quite a while...

Every doe I saw this year had 1, if not 3 fawns with it, and there's green grass everywhere so the deer have been really scattered.

The buck I shot had probably 3 inches of fat on him and was likely the biggest bodied deer I have ever seen. He'd of had a good chance of surviving a rough winter if he didn't loose too much during the rut. Every other deer I have see this year has looked really good too.

They should be set for the winter, I hope.
