I'd imagine others in North Texas, Florida, and along the Gulf Coast might still be using their swimming pools. I've been in and out several times today and plan on the same for tomorrow...but I expect this to be the last weekend for this year.

So long, swimming pool..til next May!

Tomorrow will probably be the last for the season for me. Was 82 today which is my lower threshold for comfort.
The kids will use it down to about 75 so they may get another week.

Tried to fill the kidde pool earlier this summer. Just kept getting filled with wind-blown debris. Eventually the water gets blown out and it turns into a large Frisbee thing. Back to the drawing board.

I laugh at those that use that goofy weekend in September as the last pool time.

Many places and especially here in middle Tennessee this year have good pool weather beyond that "magic date.

I was at a sand bar off of Pensacola today and there were about 500 people out there swimming and enjoying the weather, water temperature on my fishfinder was 85. I got in the pool at the condo complex later to knock some of the salt off. It's not even close to being the end of pool season down here, daily air temps were in the 90's all last week.

Pools are rare in my town because in our town of 8000 people, we have a water park. Owned by the city, paid for by tax dollars. Plus, its Iowa. The water would be in the high 50s right now.

We use the wood boiler and a cupronickle heater on our pool. The wife just came out of the 94* water.......nekid! Its worth cutting the wood for a little extra pool time!

Here I thought you were complaining about Muslims crapping in the pool! Instead it's just wimpy Americans bitching about "cold weather" of 82. To me, an average summer day is about 70. 82 is starting to get too hot to be working.

My parents took us to Disneyland at Christmastime, when I was in high school. The first morning, we were in the outdoor pool at the hotel in Anaheim. We thought the water temp was a little cold, and the maintenance man a little lax, as there was quite a few leaves in it, but my brother and I had great fun. The manager came out and watched us. He finally said, "You must be Canadians. We closed the pool months ago, it's too cold to go in the pool." That day it was in the 70s. Again, that is a summer day to us.

If you have the money to keep the water heated to about 88 I'd keep the pool open year round.

Sorta related.

A month ago taking a cold shower in my house was a relief, the water was fairly warm anyway.

Still been 90’s/70’s every day since then but less humid or something, right now taking a cold shower is sorta neutral.

A month from now when it’s 80’s/60’s it will become somewhat unpleasant.

January/February are gonna be a b$tch 🙂

Anyhoo.... it’s sorta in the same league as riding a bicycle for a fuggin’ hour every morning all weathers just to get to work, some “hardships” make life more interesting and keep us from going entirely too soft too soon in our old age.

I prob’ly coulda had a hot water heater last month for what I paid for a friggin’ dead cat, but “Noooo Birdie”, “You’re crooooel Birdie” people here said grin

I ain’t gonna lie tho, ifn I had that $500 back to throw away on something else, one of them $300 Thompson Center rifles in .308 with a workable scope would beat a new water heater any day of the week plus Sunday 🙂

Still using pool in the Chattanooga area. Water was 86 degrees yesterday. However, that is about to come to an end. Low's in the 40's and low 50's next week. We are usually closed the first week of September, but it has been in the 90's every day this year. It's been fun, but today will probably be the last time this year.

Well swim for another 4-6 weeks and then close it. Usually open it the first week of April. Our is heated, though. If it wasn’t I’d be out. I don’t do cold water.

Other than the shower, I stay as dry as I can most of the time. I wear a PFD in case I fall in the lake.
