What the heck do you do with them?
Pomegranete jelly is a PITA and stains everything.
Persimmons taste like crap except doctored up in cookies.

Deer are eating every persimmon that hits the ground. We dont have any pomegranetes.

Never found much use for pomegranates but will eat persimmons faster than deer. They teach a kid the difference between ripe and almost ripe.
Might add that I have used a fair bit of persimmon for woodcraft projects, it's great stuff for a wide variety of things. Don't float any better than a rock though.

Learn to stay away from the peeling on persimmon pretty quick............................................... also the meaning of astringent.

There are non-astringent varieties too now, which you can eat while they are still firm. I do like a well-ripe one though. Pomegranates are something I can take or leave. I open one up and scoop out the seeds onto a salad every now and then. The odd glass of pomegranate juice too.
