Early 90s I was the patrol sergeant/firearms instructor for a 50-man Sheriff's Dept. I carried an accurized 1945 Ithaca 1911A1 45 and one of my top shooters had a Colt Delta 10mm. We shot some IPSC and run and gun matches at the local club, which also hosted our qualifications.
Anyhow we switched guns back and forth occasionally and I couldn't tell enough difference in recoil to matter. And we were both running loads toward top end of reloading data available at the time.

I've really got an itch for a G40! Might have to get that itch scratched! Always used big revolvers, the bigger the better... but I got that itch!

180s out of a Sig Legion will git 'er done. I find the recoil very manageable with the P220 10MM, and much easier on the wrist than .44 Mag.

Would you want expansion when shooting deer? A bigger hole means a greater likelihood of DRT or a bigger blood trail. How about self defense rounds that are designed to expand in soft targets!

Once you have a 10mm handgun you need to get a Mech Tech carbine conversion for it. Then the fun begins! I have been a 10mm fan from the start I currently have the first 10mm I bought, a Springfield Linkless, along with others I have purchased over the years, Delta Elite, Double Eagle, 5” barreled 610, G20, Dan Wesson RZ-10 and Mech Tech conversions for 1911 and G20.
BUT I have only used any of them on small game and mostly paper. Never hogs or deer
I am one gun away from happy

Hard to beat the Sig 22X series... simple operation, great reliability, good ergos and a nice SA trigger. I sprung an old 220 heavy a few years ago and ran some 450 Triton through it, shot great, http://www.thesixgunjournal.net/the-sig-p220-45-auto/
