I have a BLR in 450 Marlin, so I'm not limited to flat nose bullets. I'm thinking about the 350 grain TSX as a choice. Are there any other recommendations that might be suitable for 450 Marlin velocities?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

The 300 grain Barnes Original in spitzer shape is a fun little bullet for Elk and under. It's short giving lots of room for powder and should be able to get good speeds. I used it in 458 Win Mag and it expands out to 200 yards when started at 2400fps which might be possible in a 50,000PSI BLR

You will need to check throat fit, length available in your mag and whether the rifle allows you to cycle longer cartridges. I have read of 450M in BLR’s being throated and using unblocked mags or WSM mags to achieve 2.8”
OAL.

A 350Gr TSX is a fairly long bullet but if you are able to load to a 2.8” OAL and the bullet fits the throat, you should achieve quite decent ballistics. Another option is to consider using the 300gr TTSX designed for the 458 Socom.

I also have a BLR .450, I traded it for a Marlin GBL 45/70. I really like it it and their is no load data dedicated to it. The action is strong one. The cartridge case is heavier
From what I can see it is long throated and I don't crimp so options are wide open.
I have used Speer 350's, H ftx 325's and Barnes Originals so far. There is no reason it cannot be loaded to Ruger #1 45/70 range. I am just getting started with it myself but this will be after hunting season. Stay in touch.

250gr Hornady monoflex. You may need a set of Hornady dies which are set up for spitzer bullets and also work with flat and roundnose of course.

Considered loading 458 300gr TTSX (0.236 bc) in my 450 Marlin BLR. Length listed as 1.235" might be too long for the magazine? 300gr TSX FN (0.163 bc) length 1.048" fit ok.
