The Young Turks said......meh. No more Armenians...no more reason for Russian "intervention". \\

75% of Kurds are Sunni Muslims. The Kurds have been at war with Turkey for a long time, most of Turkey is also Sunni. This is a ethnic tribal war that's gone on for a long time.

It's a chitfest we don't want to get in the middle of. The Kurds are only our friends because we supported their cause, which is a Kurdish country.

Fixed that for you.

The imaginary "Nation" of Iraq was dreamed up by the Brits 100 years ago.

A lot of the World's problems can be traced back to Brit d-baggery and creative lines drawn on a map.

We experts, here on the fire and elsewhere, are always yapping about endless wars etc, and declaring we should bring our troops home. Yet when CIC makes a move toward that we howl and holler like king kong with hemorrohoids. And then have the audacity to call someone else wishy washy.

Trump, this is idiotic! Are you losing a grip on your office? Does someone have sufficient "dirt" on you to pull your strings?

I sure as hell hope not, Mr. President. You're our only hope.

Guess who did most of the massacres as the Armenians were moved through the desert by the Turks. Why, our friends the Kurds, of course.

That's an exaggeration of their role, but their tribal leaders did conduct genocide against the Armenians, mostly for profit from confiscation of lands. THAT WAS THEN, and this is now, and the Kurds were allies. I can't see how any ally of this country can trust us anymore.

Here's a good read on the Kurdish involvement in Armenian genocide.

None of allies should trust us. We do not fight wars to win, and haven't since starting with Korea.

Turkey may be an "ally", but it is not and never has been our friend. Treacherous bastids. Always have been. Good fighters, I understand.

Ditto the Kurds.

It is every man (Nation) for itself and devil take the hindmost.

The threat to us is Islamism, the nations in which it is the controlling or majority belief system are our existential enemies. Islam is a religion, Islamism is the political entity of that religion that would rule the world and slay all infidels. The west is too busy embracing diversity and welcoming 'refugees' to recognize that Islam is the base that breed Islamism.

Some droolers actually believe that Joos are the greater threat. I read it on here so it must be representative of something resembling an opinion.

I've never had a problem criticizing Trump when he deserves it.
This time he is right. He ran on getting out of the Middle East and he is doing it.
If any of you buthurt keyboard warriors want to help them you are free to pack your guns and ammo and head over there on your own. Maybe grab YOUR kids and bring them along. That way you can be there when they are killed or maimed.

The Kurds never did anything for anyone except the Kurds.

I don't blame them for that. Everyone works for their own interests. But to say that we need to stay in Syria, or Iraq, or anywhere else because we *owe* the Kurds is bullshit.

The U.S. doesn't owe anyone anything.

I believe a bigger picture view might help. We don't owe them. The American's and the Kurd's shared a common foe over the past 15-20 years. Look at the entire history for context of the Kurd's and their neighbor's, country borders, etc.

Time to move on. We’ve been over there for 20 years trying to straighten that place out. So their pissed in Iraq about corruption in their government, well I pissed about the same thing here with Zero, Biden and both Clintons. We have spent billions upon billions building schools, police, fire and rescue throughout Iraq and Afghanistan. F-them at this point. We could of used that money over here to fund and offset a million projects here for citizens of the USA including our fiscal posting debt. Funny how the US citizens are always overlooked isn’t it. Enough is enough. No more globalist BS. Bush was an idiot for destabilizing the middle east by getting rid of Saddam Hussein in the first place. He was always the thorn in the Iranians side and Iran was always the problem. But then again GW was never a very smart man, I’ll leave it at that.

Why do we care about the Kurds?

Let the former colonial powers deal with the problems in their former colonies or make a UN problem and leave the U.S. out of it.

IMO, we should have left Iraq alone as a buffer against Iran, or if Iraq actually needed to be changed, let the Israelis do it since Israel and Iran were the 2 countries that benefited the most from GWB's decision to invade Iraq and depose Saddam Hussein in 2003.

Invading Iraq was an Israeli contrived idea anyway. "A Clean Break" anyone? Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Doug Fieth and David Wurmser among others should be occupying the bottom a dozed-over trench.

Anyone wanna take any bets that if Turkey invades what the Kurds now consider their turf, and the Kurds start slitting Turkish throats wholesale, that we wind up going back to "contain" the Kurds?
