I have used the 162 ELD M not X on several medium bodied deer, they work well indeed muck akin to Berger Classic 168s in performance out of a 22" 1/9 twist 7 Saum.

Running them around 2800 with 61 grn RL26, Norma Brass, BR2 and 2.85 oal.

one at 125 ish, one at 350ish and one inside 100. Very much like a Berger. No exits, not much distance covered, light blood trail, body cavities pulped out except on the 350.

Did the old amax. Boom.

Trying to figure it the ultimate 7 Saum bullet with the right blend of toughness and BC that fits in a M7 magbox. 150 E Tip is good in my experience. 150 Eldx or?

Maybe the federal edge 155?

Calvin,

.540 B.C. , I have only tested to 550 yds and that number seems true. I am not really a long range hunter. I do enjoy shooting at steel long range but don't use my 270 for that.

Is that a Litz’s number? No stranger to Noslers inflated BC claims but it shows .591 on their site and a .625 in my BallisticsAE.

Yes Litz numbers, that is what I use for all my LRAB loads.... Nosler is a bit optimistic...
