7 SAUM is making a bunch of headway in F class ...
It’s got me thinking about getting a second bolt for my Vector in case I want to jump up from my 6 Creed at competition.
Do we have any 7 SAUM (stupid name remington ) on the fire anymore

Big fan here! I have a first gen Remington 700 Ti with a Zeiss Conquest ZPlex 600 reticle. It loves the 140 TTSX and IMR 4350 at about 3075 fps. Under .5 MOA all day!
The lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part!

I'm in Retumbo and 180 ELD mode but it is certainly a very versatile cartridge...

Have a couple , a Model 7 that usually slings 120's and 140's and a M700 with Sendero barrel that shoots 168's . Have considered selling them from time to time but don't. 7saum really works well and brass life is great.

I run two of them and have yet to find anything in the SA that I prefer more as to speed, barrel life, bullet selection and powder usage.
One is a light weight custom rig 22" mag contour in a Boyds thumbhole LW that prints just about everything in the 140-162 class 1/4 ish moa with H4831 SSC. The other I sold recently to build a Helix Carbon Sendero contour 22" set up chambered for the 162 ELDM that should print way better than I can run her.

I love mine. I've killed moose, caribou, elk, and mule deer with mine using 162 A-Max and Reloader 17. It provides good terminal performance with reasonable recoil in a rifle of modest weight.
Suck bullets simply suck.

I have one in a Model Seven SS with a 22” barrel. It’ll shoot 160 grain Partitions at 2980fps with RL26. IMR7828SSC was very close to that velocity, as well.

I have a Remington 700 in 7 RSAUM. I have yet to begin load work. My two month vacation begins Nov 15th & I will be camped at the range for hours per day. I have numerous guns for load work & the 7 RSAUM is the priority.

With 162gn AMAX I have found H1000 and Retumbo to be useful.
Retumbo gives slightly higher velocities with less pressure ~ 3100fps for the 162gn bullet. H1000 works well too, but I run the slower powder now.

I have a remington 700 stainless. I'm using 150 gr. partitions with 67 grs. of H-1000 this year. 3052 fps. I like it a lot.

I have one in the first generation Rem 700 Titanium Mountain Rifle that I've never fired.
I need to get set up to handload for it. Factory fodder is mighty slim.

I have used the 162 ELD M not X on several medium bodied deer, they work well indeed muck akin to Berger Classic 168s in performance out of a 22" 1/9 twist 7 Saum.
Running them around 2800 with 61 grn RL26, Norma Brass, BR2 and 2.85 oal.

one at 125 ish, one at 350ish and one inside 100. Very much like a Berger. No exits, not much distance covered, light blood trail, body cavities pulped out except on the 350.

Have any of you guys tried the hornadt 162 eld-x bullet? On game? Did the old amax. Boom. Trying to figure it the ultimate 7 Saum bullet with the right blend of toughness and BC that fits in a M7 magbox. 150 E Tip is good in my experience. 150 Eldx or? Maybe the federal edge 155?

270, RL26 , 150 LRAB..... done What BC did you come up with for the 150 LRAB? Calvin, .540 B.C. , I have only tested to 550 yds and that number seems true. I am not really a long range hunter. I do enjoy shooting at steel long range but don't use my 270 for that.

Is that a Litz’s number? No stranger to Noslers inflated BC claims but it shows .591 on their site and a .625 in my BallisticsAE.

.625 down to .540. I am going to run factory 129 LRX for general killing duties out of mine. That 136 Edge TLR looks like an interesting killing bullet based on cut aways.

Curious to see how they hold up. On another note, I'll be shooting 180 Scenars this year in my 7 SAUM. Longest shot I'll be taking where I'm hunting now is 467. It's going to be awfully hard not to go back to 120 TTSXs for me. They sure did great in my 7 WSM.

Bought a used M7 ss mag 2 springs back for $400 with a Sightron on it ,nice hardly used at all. They couldn't find ammo for it so sold it cheap. I bought a box of Nosler trophy grade ammo with 160 gr ABLR's it shot 2" groups at 50 yds. Used the brass some RL -19 and 140 gr Sierras and 3 shot groups you could cover with a nickel at 50yds. Have found and reformed 300 SAUM brass to 7mm. Killed an antelope doe back in Oct with 139 Horn BTSP's 1 shot 200 yds. Last Saturday 1 shot and done on a big bodied 4x4 mule back at 215 yds same load. Think I'll work up a load with 150 gr NPT's, I hit that mb behind the right shoulder, broke 2 ribs and never made it to the far side of the cage. Never seen that before and don't need to see that again. He gutted over 200 lbs and was very fat and well muscled . MB

Think we could provide more dramatic content than Cheers if only we could find a Diane...

Just imagine the fun you could have if Jeff O came out of the shadows.

There’s a chance he will be in the sequel You dicks keep running off all the entertainment! A parody of Jeff sitting on top of all the deer sign glassing into the dead side of a canyon for two days straight wondering why he hadn’t seen any mule deer would be epic. I miss Jeff .

I am going to video the image showing it when the tool for it arrives. As well as test some others. The point is they may or may not be squared away. Mine has over 3% tracking error and 2% reticle shift. Want squared away get nightforce. Scope companies make crap because they know most people don’t shoot their guns very often. Then they are able to batch qc the scopes that do fail or actually get used. CC could charge a modest PPV price I’m betting .

That JellO hunt was epic.... he drew a good tag in a great area known for trophy mule deer. Then sat on one canyon for days with no deer sighting. can't make this shiit up.... Then he shot a forky LMAO Another doozy was the Oregon antelope tag.. another hard to draw tag... he got stoned , fished a little shot the first antelope he saw ...... let the head rot in the backyard till the dogs drug it off. You can visit JellO on the backpack thread he is a regular there... for some reason they tolerate him over there.....

Hell Josh, I am still trying to get up to speed on AI,CD, binderless blablabla etc...... You are still trying to get up to speed on a lot of things, I think....? The 7SAUM, ADG, 180 ELDM's, Retumbo and Fed215M's should be starters...... Say’s the Ma-Surah farm boy who loves big hands and men’s buttholes. Laffin 😎 X-V The flat brim hat and skinny jeans probably gave them a clue...... Oh and to be clear that was NOT directed at you Hig....... I saw what you did to Cummincowboy, I intend to stay on your good side.... We’re all happy Hig never became a proctologist...Well, except for XVerminator. Grins 😎

We've had great results in two 7mm SAUM rifles with the 160NAB at 2,850-2,900fps (22" barrels). My latest one is a "parts gun" being a Model 7 LS barreled action in a CDL stock. The current load is fairly mild, being a 150gr TTSX over Hunter for 2,900fps. It tracks well with the Boone & Crockett reticle at 300/400yds, using a 200yd zero. 200yds Handy little rifle.

Didn't really buy mine for LR, a couple of years back I traded for a M7 Predator in 243,just love the way it handles and shoots. So when a M7 ss Magnum model in 7 SAUM came at me real cheap I asked the guy what's wrong with it? He replied can't find any ammo for it. I told him that was a problem all right so make me a deal and it will be my problem . He did and it really isn't a problem ammo wise just inconvenient if you don't handload. MB
