The discussion went like this with my oldest son on speaker phone with wife and I.
Son: "I'd really like to buy a AR10 platform before they ban assault weapons!"
Wife: "Do we have one of those honey?"
Me: "We have a few 308 hunting rifles but not on an AR platform"
Wife: Then WE should get one.
Me: ON IT!

Seekins Precision SR10. I dressed it up with a Magpul bipod, Bushnell Nitro 5-20 x 44 FFP scope, and a sling.
Before I got the scope, I put it on paper with the iron sites then moved it out to 100 yards (last photos). Super accurate with my 308 reloads (41 gr of IMR4064, CCI 250 primer, drop tubed to make room for a 165 Hornady SP)

Nice rifle. Looks like it has some potential.

Well, it was interesting and contributed to the forum, unlike most of yours.

Sportsdad, nice rifle. I'd been using a lot of the Hornady and Sierra 165gr SP bullets, but have been even more impressed with the 175gr SMK over Varget and the accuracy loads for both are closer to the same speed than I expected.

Thanks for the feedback!
I'm still looking for what the rifle likes. I'm going to try some Varget next. I do have some 178 gr pulls I may put to the test.

She's a "Vote from the mountain tops" rifle for sure.

SD,

The video was a reference to DLA, not your new rig.

Personally, I like the looks of it and look forward to additional range reports after you've worked with it for awhile.

Yonderings suggestion of SMK's and Varget doesn't sound like a bad one.

That's cool. Wife and I were in your backyard recently too. Just a day trip up through the Swan Valley, and down the east side of Flathead Lake.

So the purpose was to show off a purchase? To get your ego stroked by a bunch of forum commandos?
Do you feel better now about your purchase? That's nice!

Nothing wrong with a little show and tell every once in a while.

Yeah, no kidding. I thought that's what this forum was for. Personally, I like to see what other guys put together, it gives me a lot of ideas. I think he's jealous.

Sportsdad, nice gun. Thanks for posting.

Thank you gents. Like I said, it's my first. I am primarily a wood stock hunter. This one is for fun, or SHTF. wink

I enjoyed the op. I appreciate Sd6 taking the time to put together a nice photo spread and show us some groups, and his wonderful attitude that lead to this new source of joy for him. It's nice to see what a Seekings rifle can do, sure it's only one data point, but one more than I had before his post.

There's enough griping an moaning on this forum, why not share our small joys in ways that also help inform others?

If we are too nice to each other down here in the Black Rifle section, please joins up in the top forum. There plenty of politics etc. if complaining is your purpose in life.
