Got my new Ozarks "getaway" cabin all set up, and will go back down there May 20- June 20, then back here to the "mountain stronghold" 'til next winter. The cabin's right on one of the area's nicer smallmouth streams, but it's been half a dozen years since I fished for them. Any suggested patterns/tactics from this group would be appreciated!

Smallmouth?

If it's early and they are not on the beds yet, just about any streamer should work. That, and I've had GREAT luck with large Iso mayfly nymph imitations, sunk hard, them swam up in spurts, like they are getting ready to hatch. Time this with a real hatch, and HANG ON!

If they are on the beds, anything will work.

Poppers, frogs, and crawfish imitations are standards, and for really good reason.
