I just bought a Winchester model 275 pump in 22 win mag .I saw one of these 40 years ago and always wanted one now I am getting one .I don't know how picky they are on ammo .I want to scope it I suck with iron site unless it's close bears or elephants.I hope to use it on hogs on some of out wma hunts that require 22 Rim fire .I have shot coyotes with 22 stingers that's about it .I hate that 22 win mag is so high but I found some for $10 a box of 50 not too bad .I just was impressed with one of these 40 years ago and wanted a 22 mag but not a bolt gun.I hope it shoots good with a scope !

The selection of 22 mag ammo today is much better than 35 years ago. I suspect you can find something your Winchester likes. Congrats on your new rifle. Post some photos when you can.

I've got a 275, a great platform for the .22 MAG. I've got an old Simmons Whitetail Classic 1.5-5x20 mounted with B-Square rings and Weaver adapters. Probably the 2nd best .22 MAG pump gun ever made, 2nd only to the 61s.

If you're interested in upgrading the wood, I bought a couple of set of the deluxe grade wood from GPC awhile back for around $90 per set. This has the basket-weave style "checkering" like the post-'64 88s and 100s.

Mine has the basket weave the stock is very nice but no cheek piece .I got a case of armscore ammo with it .Wally world reduced 22 mags to $10 a box which is high but way better than what it was .The metal and bluing is only fair but it's just a hunting gun.I hope to shoot hogs with it .They are a pain on our farm and I can use this gun on wmas. Its missing the rear site wonder if I could find one .I am going to use a scope but would like it on there .I hope I get to shoot it Monday .i hope to shoot a hog with it next week 6.Its a. Super light rifke too that will be nice to tote !

Cool rifle! When I was a lad, I would drool over gun ads, and that was one of them. Congrats!

I have only seen one of these in person .I like it because it's a pump not bolt action and I can put a scope on it unlike Rossi pump .Its as light or lighter than a ruger 1022 .For the money it was the best but of a 22 win mag I could find .I almost bought a ruger American 22 win mag but they bolt terrible not goid for quick shots .It had the sling swivels and scope mount on it just gotta put a scope on it .I need to run a rope through the bore to clean it good before I shoot it .I figured it would get gone quick before I got it but it was still there and guy brought it almost to my house yeah .I saw 22 win mag Winchester brand for $24 at wally world for 150 rounds .I have to try them. I bought 500 armscore hp 22 win mag shells with the gun for $60 good deal . That is what sucks about 22 win mag the shells are so high .

I know it's not the case for a lot of people, but the winchester brand regular old 22mag ammo is what shoots best in my 96/22mag, so far. 11-12 dollars per 50.

Someone used to make the barrel mount for a forward scope on the Taurus/Rossi/ Winchester 62. Be Well, RZ

I plan on trying various brands of ammo in my 22mag to see what it likes but one in particular I wish to try is the hornady critical defense. Seems promising in terms of penetration for pig like critters. I plan on doing a comparison into some type of media, maybe wet phone books or sheets of plywood.

The deluxe stock for the 100/200 series lever, pump, and semi-auto is GPC # 588630A/B/C/D for $61.50, but they don't currently have the deluxe forearm for the 270/275, GPC # 1172380.

GPC is showing both the rear sight and barrel collar as being available in stock.

I shot that Winchester model 275. 22 win mag today .Its as smooth as silk .I put a Burris 3x9 on it worked very nice .I shot it at 25 yards and then 100 with the armscore 40 gr up ammo .It shot awesome at 25 yards but the wind was blowing pretty good when I shot 100 yards .It shot under a dime groups. At 25 yards .It didbt do as good at 100 yards .I wish it had a better trigger its kinda mushy .The action is smooth as silk .I will try some more different ammo in it .

So do you still have the rifle, just bidding on one now, but they say the barrel is marked 255 and means someone changed the barrel or Winchester put together the last bunch with spare parts.
