Who is complaining about 10mm recoil? Not sure I've ever seen that here.
The relatively mild recoil of a semi-auto 10mm is one of it's big selling points compared to most traditional "woods gun" revolvers.

Who is complaining about 10mm recoil? Not sure I've ever seen that here. Not complaining, just saying that IME, the Glock 10mm has less recoil than the metal framed 1911's. I have no problem shooting them, but it is what is is. With that terrible trigger, the Glock should have some redeeming merit... DF

This matches my experience with my G20 and G29. Also with the smaller CCW 9mm's, like the Kahr CM9 and the G26. They just don't seem to recoil like everyone claims they do. Maybe it's a function of being semi auto and spreading out the recoil impulse or something. Or maybe it's all the years of shooting 44 mags and 45 Colts loaded to the hilt, has just numbed my hands..... I've been going about it from the other direction. My first (doubt it's the last) 10mm is the Ruger GP100. I don;t doubt that the recoil from some 10mm autos may be softer, but I have found the 220gr Underwood load (which is essentially the same as the BB 220gr) to be almost pleasant even in the revolver. Currently working up a load with the 200gr Montana Bullets LBT. Some auto users have reported cycling problems with that slug, but I don't anticipate any.
Lunatic fringe....we all know you're out there.

DF Sorry I wasn't referring to your comments, my experience matches yours there; my long slide Glock 10mm is the most pleasant and controllable of all the "woods guns" I've had or used, and the standard G20 is not too far behind. My comments were directed to the OP and his expectation of 44 Mag recoil levels.

Yeah, those big revolvers do kick a bit.
I have several .44 Mag and strong frame .45 Colt revolvers. Don't see the need for a 10mm wheel gun.

How accurate are your 10mms? I didnt shoot the 220s past 10 yards but think I could keep them in a 4" circle out to 25-30 yards. In my hands I doubt it's a 50 yard gun.
I really only fired my G29 off of bags on a bench one time, soon after I got it. It put the entire mag (forgive me, but I don't recall which loading....... possibly 175 Silvertips) into 5" at 50 yards. I have since done the trigger. But my eyes are about 20 years older, too........ At this point, the gun is considerably more accurate than the operator. Milk jugs, however, are still in SOME danger at 100 yards. Not much. But some. 😁

After also hearing all the hype re: the 10mm, I was pretty surprised at the non-abusive recoil of my Glock 40 10mm.
It's pretty much a pussycat compared to shooting some of my .45 Colt revolvers with stout loads. Ditto here. I had mine out for the first time last week. Felt like it recoiled less than my M610 and Ruger Buckeye. I need to mount my optics still.

If you install RMR, get Trijicon suppressor sights, high enough to co-witness the red dot. Much faster finding the dot, IME. If the Glock has a good trigger, it would be about ideal. Oh well... DF

My Springfield XDM isn't bad at all with 180gr/1,250fps ammo. I need to get some 200gr hardcast to try out.
Now with even more aplomb

Those are good guns. I have a 9mm Springfield target 1911 in SS, great gun.
I'd love to have a Glock 40 with a 1911 trigger.
Unfortunately....

LOL, I have an all steel DW 5" 10mm, it is indeed a pleasure to shoot, a hard hitting pussycat, haven't ran any heavy hardcasts in it yet, but 200gr XTP's from 1200 to 1241 fps are a piece of cake, haven't shot a Glock 10mm so no comment.

DF Local shop did the tweak of the grip. I am not a fan of finger grooves on any handgun. I like it. The trigger is a Zev and works just fine.

We need a 6" barrel for deer so I ended up going with the EAA Witness Hunter. Never been a fan of Glocks but haven't tried any of the recent evolution's. I REALLY like this pistol. Very good trigger and the grip shape just seems to soak up recoil compared to a 1911. I'm seriously considering a smaller 4" barrel version for CCW.

Haven't had any problem with recoil on my G20. I was rather surprised with how manageable it was when I first got it. Did some modifications that better suit me-KKM barrel undercut the trigger guard and got rid of the finger grooves. Much better. Up next is a ZEV trigger. Absolutely love the one in my ZEV OZ-9 and I've got one in a G19. [/img]

The heaviest I ever shot was 200 grainers, recoil is bad at all. The 20 disperses recoil rather well.
Team Never Quit 125 grain frangibles are absolutely fun to shoot ( I carried them while working as an armed guard).

my Glock 40 is a twin to Local Dirt's pistol. I find it easy to shoot, and the RMR sight is a dandy. Mine is set up for night hog hunting, with the Streamlight white light. I have been using the Hornady SP 180 grain .load.
