Drove past a cemetery today and noted with astonishment that a number of graves were decorated with Halloween ghosts, skeletons, and such. It struck me as extremely out of place. You?

I can see where if you had a child that loved Halloween that had passed this might bring fond memories. Otherwise, I don't get it.

That is a bit odd.
Maybe they will start selling ad space on headstones.

I agree! Makes me wonder if the families of those that are residing there know of the decorations. Wouldn't take me but a second to remove anything from the grave site of any of my family!

It's between those involved, not I.

Dunno. I have never gotten why people like skulls and bones and crap like that. Its not funny or entertainment and it just reminds me I am gonna die someday. I like Halloween but in a spooky fun kind of way.

Odd, but it might have something to do with the Day of the Dead customs found south of the border.

I think of a cemetery as a place to show reverence & respect.
I think culturally we have a tough time dealing honestly with death tho. There are a lot of ways to trivialize it and that’s one of em.
No surprise; decorum is passé unless it’s some sort of SJW project.

That ain't right. First of all, my people, the Celts, invented Halloween back in Wales, 2,500 years ago. We called it Samhain. It was, and is a great celebration and festival, a day where the wall between the living and the dead is removed, and you can visit with the ghosts of your deceased ancestors.
But most of these cemetaries are for Christians and the Christian religion is a long, long way from the Celtic religion. This is a dumb-ass move by some local and I bet those decorations don't last till Halloween night. I know, down here in Dixie it wouldn't last 24 hours, the Southern Baptists would have a fit.

Never seen anything like that but I dam sure wouldn't like it if they decorated one of my relatives graves.
None of my business what they do with their family's grave stones but keep your hands off of mine.

Cemetaries don't need Halloween decorations to be in Halloween season.

Hard to say with so little info. D of the D is Nov 1 and 2. Odd, but it might have something to do with the Day of the Dead customs found south of the border. https://m.wikihow.com/Celebrate-D%C3%ADa-de-los-Muertos-(Day-of-the-Dead)

Very tacky. I'd pull all that crap down if I found in on folk's graves.
