It looks like the Astros won tonight, all the Cardinals have to do is win tonight, the next game, and two more.

While too many Stros dont know if the count on them 3-2 they better at least touch the next pitch that comes close to the box.

Does anyone think the Stros or Yanks can beat the Nats.

The Nationals look pretty good. Yankees need to start hitting or they will be playing golf and watching the WS.

The Astros are in a hitting slump. The Yankees have good pitching but it isn’t great. The Yankees have an excuse for not hitting Cole or Verlander. They are pitching great. Hasbeen

Jag, is there something about the word baseball that causes you to post incoherent stuff after seeing or hearing it, or have you been hitting the hooch already today?

It's official. I missed the selfie deadline so I'm Maser's sock puppet because rene and the Polish half of the fubar twins have decided that I am.

Yes, anyone who has been a baseball fan longer than this week realizes that any of the teams left are capable of winning it all. The Astros and Yankees had much better seasons that did Washington. The Nats are on a roll and the Cardinals looked awful against them, but that can change at any time. The Nats are about to get a few days off, who knows what will happen when they finally play again.

Yankees should have picked up another starter this summer before the deadline. Pitching over hitting is always the winner over the long haul. Cole and Verlander vs Tanaka isn't a good match-up since Astros have 2 great starters to 1 on the Yankees. Yankees big chance was to win the 2nd game in Houston which they did not. The next 2 games are a must win for NY because it will then go back to Houston for the last 2 games if needed. Sad for me to say but that decision to not get more pitching will put the Yankees into playing golf in a few days.

There's three things you need to win at baseball...

Pitching
Pitching
And more pitching....Seems like there is never too much of it.

I remember when Dallas Green wanted to have a roster of 24 pitchers and Gary Thompson.

They can't pitch Verlander or Cole for the upcoming game.

I hope they decide to have a couple of guys start hitting again to make up for it.

Mainly Gurriel, Alverez, and Springer....

None of them have done much at all in the box.

Skin of their teeth again.

BTW, they have not named who will be pitching next.

Wildcard teams have gone on to win the WS 6 times;

1997 - Florida/Miami
2002 - Anaheim/LA
2003 - Florida/Miami
2004 - Boston
2011 - St. Louis
2014 - San Francisco

Washington has strong pitching and seems to be on a roll, but Houston has a well balanced team. If I bet on MLB, I'd find it hard not to bet on Houston.

They had best get to hitting then and it wouldnt hurt to have another pitcher stepping up.
