I have a couple. I use 140 Ballistic tips, IMR 4350 powder. Not the fastest, but it’s really accurate in my two Sakos and a pre 64 Westerner I once had!

Used a .264 Win Mag on Caribou with Nosler 130gr AB one shot and have used Nosler 120gr BT in the past for Deer and Antelope. What do you want to hunt with your .264 Win Mag ?

Hard to beat right there!!! I’ve taken big mule deer, big whitetails, BIG Feral Hogs and several Antelope with that bullet and was NEVER disappointed with its terminal performance. And plenty accurate too.

And the 120 gr Ballistic Tips work great too. And even more accurate in my rifle than the Partitions.

For max safe velocity in the 264 & bullets of 120gr & heavier powders like N570, Rel 33,& Retumbo have been stellar performers for me....For bullets like Barnes 100gr TTSX & Nosler 100gr Part. IMR 7828 will easily give over 3700 fps from a 26" bbl. This side of 500yds these 100gr bullets are outstanding for deer. From antelope to elk a great round... Flat shooting, super quick time of flight. & has been absolutely dependable for me since I started using the round in 1964. Back then it was H 870 powder .

I shot an antelope with the 120 BT at about 80 yards with my 264. He was quartering pretty hard toward me, the bullet hitting the front part of the shoulder. It pretty much destroyed that front quarter, but it turned the lungs to jelly. He died right quick. A little too violent when hitting any major bones. I have killed several whitetails with that bullet, but always waited for a broadside rib shot. I never got an exit on those shots, but it was always a fast kill. I loaded those Noslers over IMR 4831 out of a 27" barrel. They are very accurate and shoot flat.

Been shooting one for about 6 years now.

I load a military ball powder WC872 that i get from Jeff Bartlett at GIBrass.
It's close to the burn rate of H870 so I use the data for that powder.
130 Accubonds at 3350 from a 28 inch barrel.
Have killed 5 deer with it at ranges from 40-350 yards.
One of the 5 managed to take another step.

My experience as well with the 120 gr Ballistic Tips. Violent tissue destruction. Super quick kills. Rarely exits. But super accurate. Will really ruin a coyote’s day too.

(having some chronograph issues, so velocities are little off)

Haven't shot anything with it, yet, though.

Nice " shinbone ". Typical grouping that the 264 is capable of.. . High velocity flat shooting. Very reasonable recoil.

Thanks, and so true. The .264WM is a fantastic cartridge made all the better by the modern components now available.

I'm looking at putting a .264 together. What twist do you all have on your barrels? Especially for the 125 partitions. What twist is needed for the 130s and 140s bullets weights?

Was thinking 24" barrel as well.

Thanks all

My Model 70 has a 1-10" Shilen. I've shot everything from 85gr Sierras to 140gr partiions. It seems to favor the 120-125 bullets the best, though I haven't tried many heavier bullets. It shot the Barnes 130gr and the 140gr Partition OK, but not great..I also got very good accuracy with the 100gr Partition and the 95gr V-Max. But I get great accuracy with the 120Gr BT and it's such a fast killer I haven't felt like I needed anything else, on deer sized game anyway. If it was a 1-8" I would definitely try some of the heavier VLD type bullets. Really would depend on what you want to do with it I guess.

Mine likes a mild load of R26 and a 140 Berger. Killed quite a few critters from small Muley Bucks, up to 350 calls Bull Elk. All one and done!

M70 with a 26” Krieger barrel. Twist is 9”. My go to load is the 125 PT Also shoots the 140GK and 140PT very well. I like the 125 for deer. Son took a nice elk with the 140PT. Haven’t used the GK on anything alive.

Thanks.... One pre-fit I'm looking at is a 1:9 twist at 24"... this should suffice for the 140s. I don't need the heavy heavies. mostly deer and steel. Was thinking a 1:8 at 26" but would rather save a little weight and sacrifice a little speed

I have both 1/9 & 1/8 twist. with bullets up to the 143gr ELDX I can tell no difference in accuracy. Stellar accuracy from 100gr , 120 TSX, 130gr TSX, 143gr ELDx. Virtually the same load in either twist. If I were going to put a new rifle together I would suggest 1/8. Just in case you want to use one of the new 150gr class bullest. For me I see no need for those extra heavy bullets. 100gr TTSX for deer, 120 or 130gr TSX for elk . That has covered every thing for me.
