Hard to beat big Jim. When I was a kid, all the old ladies in the neighborhood used to make and give out homemade popcorn balls at Halloween. Basically popcorn mixed with Karo Syrup, I think, to form a ball about the size of a baseball. I LOVED those things!

Yes. Those were very good.
The lousy kids that I went trick or treeting with thought they were lame.
I would trade them Candy Corn for popcorn balls. I still dont like those weird little candy corn wax tooth looking things!
Home made treats were interesting!

Home made treats were interesting! Me too! We used to get big ole homemade brownies and carmeled apples too. I was never a fan of candy corn either.

Don't want anything on or in my popcorn except for salt and butter, and I don't have to the butter. Now, I do like popcorn balls, and my wife fixes a snack at Christmas that incudes popcorn, caramel, and cashews, and it is delicious. But, for the most part, just plain old popcorn with some butter seasoned salt, and I'm happy.
