Hello Winchester Collectors,

I’m trying to track down a nice Winchester model 90 in 22 LR, but it’s proving to be about as difficult as finding an honest politician. Anybody have a nice one they might be willing to part with?

I don't remember a model 90... I do remember a 190 semi auto....is it similar?
If so they had a problem with the 190... I found a fix for...

No. The 90, or 1890, is a slide action (pump) rimfire.

Oh ok I'm familiar with thos pretty well..I have several and a few 1906 models also....really hard to find one with good rifling...most nice ones have been refinished...for some reason they must have kept them stored in the barn...seems everyone wants collector grade price for beaters..

The LR will be hard to find, and/or pricey.

It appears that most of these rifles were kept in a crate full of gravel or used as a baseball bat! They are typically beat to hell. I don’t understand it- I have plenty other rifles (including rimfire) from the era that were cared for as any other fine firearm. But for some reason, Model 90’s were put through the mill.

My search continues...

It would appear that Father Time, the decider of all fates, has spoken. Nobody reading this forum has a nice Model 90, 22 LR for sale. Keep me in mind if you guys see one.

Thanks,
Jake
