Thanks Rory,
See last paragraph above. BOB stamped both sides of receiver. It’s on lower left of right side of receiver but doesn’t show in photo.

Oops, missed that. Darned work keeps interrupting my personal life. Well, at least Bob didn't scratch his entire social into the receiver. That stamp isn't very noticeable. Same "22 Hi-P SAVAGE" stamp as mine. Wonder what years they used that?

You brought it to the 2014 Savage Fest, I snagged a pic of it. Light reflections were nasty tho.

When did Savage make a model GE? Heck, maybe we’ve found the missing link showing the original name was GE!

I think I like it better with this buttstock. I think I like it a lot better. Old: New: Better Is there something funky about the Schnabel on the forearm or is the camera or my eyes playing tricks on me?

Better
Is there something funky about the Schnabel on the forearm or is the camera or my eyes playing tricks on me? I had to pull the gun back out to look at it after posting that picture also. The forearm is indeed slightly uneven at the front, with the left side slightly lower. Cracked and refinished, or just mfr'ing flaw? Dunno, it's hard to see holding the gun. That camera angle is the perfect angle to see it.
