I am zeroing in a load with the 103 gr. ELD-X in my 6mm AI and will give these a try this season. I am curious about the DTACs on game, I have had mixed results with other Sierra target bullets on game but have heard of others using these with success. Would the Berger be a better bet? Berger makes the 115s in Hunting and target styles. I am not a long range shooter and these will be used at under 5-600 yards. At this range will the 115s offer much over the 103 ELD-X? I have had good luck with AMAX and the ELD-X looks to be an improved version of them.

The newer DTAC’s are pointed, and you will want to get a tip uniformer to open them up.

The old DTAC 115’s killed solidly.

At the Ranges you’re looking at, the ELD-X, ELD-M’s, or Berger 115’s would be easier.

Thanks, will probably load DTACs and shoot rocks for comparison and hunt with a hunting bullet. Meplat uniforming and opening the hollow point don't seem worth it for my use.

I've never found a 115 that had a big enough increase in BC over the 105s to be worth the drop in speed. Hard to beat the 105 hor bthp but I've been playing with the 108 eldm in my 6 creed and looking for a buck to run one through.

I have the 103 ELD_Xs ready to go in the 6Ai. I haven't clocked them yet but should be close to 3,400 fps. I will compare drops with the 95 BT in my 243 once I am out in West Tex. where I can shoot up to a mile if so inclined. I think I got 600 blems at a good price. The 105 Hornaday will be one to try too.
