Cooled off compared to the 90’s a couple weeks ago. Kinda dreary cloudy day.

Pot of gumbo going.

Chicken, andouille sersage, shrimp and crab.

I do it the easy way. “Louisiana power” gumbo starter in the quart jar.

Now to simmer all day.

Wife's fixing gumbo today, too. Got some friends coming over Tuesday and that's what we gonna feed'em.

I made a gumbo Thursday.

Pheasant, andouille and shrimp.

Did not have any okra on hand and did not want to go to the store for it but did have diced green onions to add to the bowls.

I'm no expert on Gumbo but I do like to type with a very dark roux.

Made a pot of chicken and deer sausage gumbo yesterday myself. I’m making meals for my trip to Montana this week for opening elk rifle.
I’ve got gumbo, beef stew and chili in quart bags in the freezer getting frozen.
I’d rather eat these type of meals than mountain house.
We had enough gumbo left over to have lunch after church.

Didn't do gumbo but did make a big pot of jambalaya for last night . . . it was good . . .

Yes it would. Pretty much anything with seafood would be great! As we’re a ways from the gulf.....the wife is making Clam Chowder (New England). I’m guess’n, there’s won’t be any okra in it! wink However, we have Hank Sr. singing Jambalaya in the background....does that count for anything? grin memtb
