Almost decided to pull the trigger on an adventure bike, the Triumph Tiger 800 XC, then reality set in. Its expensive. I dream of long rides out west and hitting the dirt but reality is it won't happen anytime soon, and around home its nearly 100% road riding. There are no local Triumph dealers, the nearest is 150 miles away. While there's nothing romantic about the Japanese bikes, they plain work and reliability is second to none.

Harleys or any bike with feet forward is not my style, and a windscreen is a must.

So I've landed on the Yamaha Tracer 900 (FJ09). Anybody got one?

Congrats on the new ride. I have been looking at the triumph 1200 scrambler. I need to do a little herd thinning first though.

Man I LOVE the new 1200 Scrambler. I want a road bike to chew up miles but if I could afford a second play bike it would be the 1200 Scrambler. Man that thing is sexy.

Triumph is just as reliable as any bike on the market. Another thing about Triumphs . . .They are not "throw away bikes" . . . they are classic "keepers!" wink

Sorry didn't mean to imply Triumphs aren't reliable, they are, but the dealer is not convenient and I've heard bad stories about waiting weeks for parts from the UK (if you should need them).

Was just reading an article about triumph. Alot of them are made in Thailand now. Also, I've noticed the brown leather seats on several bikes. Whats up with that?

Do a long ride (I mean LONG )with knees bent stuck on tiny pegs and see how that feels.. BTDT, for years.. No more. A couple months ago I did 933 miles in one day on the HD and wasn't even that tired.. YUGE difference when a ride can move legs/feet forward.. But - whatever puts air in yer tires.. laugh laugh

Congrats on the new bike.

Most of my riding is hauling ass around home. I still got a need for speed. Hope it goes away before I get hurt.

That cp3 engine is supposed to be great. Seating position is pretty comfortable as well. Legs aren't bent too much and back is mostly upright. If I was to trade my 2004 FZ1 the Tracer would be high on the list. Congrats. Where are the pictures?

I have ridden a bike with that engine on a track day. It's plenty of motor. The ergos are right up my alley. I love cruise control. The MSRP on that bike is high. I'll bet they can be had for MUCH less.

I won't own a bike that I can't stand on the pegs and ride.

You’ve got a point. Nothing like standing to gain some leverage and control in certain situations as well a much needed rest from sitting.

Major change in direction. Had a deal too good to pass up. 2014 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S GT with 8000 miles in route from Jacksonville, FL.

Its considered an adventure bike, can stand up on the pegs, though obviously pavement focused.

Dry weight 454 lbs, wet weight 515 lbs

150 hp

WOW!

Pics are with and without included luggage.

I really like the Multistrada and that looks great!

Have considered trading my K1300S on one.
