Local shop has a Winchester model 12 3" heavy duck. Probably 90% if I were to guess. Original buttpad , solid rib 30" full choke. Didn't check the serial number for year made . They're asking $600 but i can probably get it for $500-550. I have a small collection of model 12s and always wanted a 3" . Is it worth it? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a nice gun, that is right in the range, I haven't seen anything of good condition for less than that.

Make sure it is not redone, but that sounds like a fair price.

I sold an identical Model 12 Heavy Duck Gun, sounds like in the same condition...on Gunbroker...within the last 60 days...it brought a final sale price of $495 before G/B took the listing and sale fees...and Buyer paid $30 insurance & shipping...from TX to NC...So $450-$500 should be just about exactly what it is worth.

When I get time I have a model 12 trap gun with factory rib and nice wood. I was going to try $750 and I think a heavy duck would be in the same ballpark.

I am always looking for factory wood stocks!

Have purchased two at auction around here in the last two years.

I have 2 heavy ducks. One has the solid rib and one is plain barrel.
They are great shotguns but no steel shot gets near mine.
If you can get it for around $500 I don't think you would ever be sorry.

Yeah it definitely wouldn't be any steel shot ran through it. I rarely waterfowl hunt , just kind of want it. Might kill a spring gobbler with it .
