I purchased a pair of Pentax 8 x 32 DCFWP Binoculars that are practically new. At least they look like they have never been used. Any thoughts on these and is $130 and decent price. I'm not that familiar with Pentax Binoculars, but have heard pretty good things about them.

Yes they are good. You did not lose on the deal. I have 8x43 and bought 8x32’s for my dad years back. They are nice.

Thanks SeanD. I have a pair of Burris Sig. Select in 8X32 and really like them. When I seen the Pentax binocular I bought them thinking I had heard that Pentax made the Burris Binoculars at one time. Good to know others like them.

I have an older pair of the 10x43 DCF SP's so not exactly the same but they where my go to binocs for the past 7-8 years. I still really liked them but recently tried something new I am liking better so far. I think you did good in the price you paid.

As mentioned, you got a good deal. There are different eras/flavors of the DCF WP lineup, but they are solid and punched above their weight class. I have a set of 10x42 that are about 10 years old that I bought from Doug and they are great binos. I'm not sure if the binos where shared between Pentax and Burris like the scopes were, but either way they are nice.

It is my opinion that Pentax binoculars benefit greatly from the R&D of the rest of their camera etc. business and makes for great glass at good prices. I’ve had many binos from their WP, SP and ED lines and they all are great at their price point.

I have/use Pentax 8x42 DCF HR II binocular. Very good glass, very crisp image. You'll like 'em.

Thank you for the replies and the information. Not sure of the era of this pair but they were made in Japan. Not sure if Pentax still is or not.

They don't get much press anymore but I've always liked the SP/ED models. I have an 8x43 that I have always though was great, especially for the money

I got the 8x42 DCF WP from Cameraland back in 02 or 03. Very good glass,I still use them to this day. There is better glass, but for the cost they are good.
