I’m hoping that someone will remember the thread name of recommended tested and proven scopes. I seem to never be able to find it for reference.

Someone graciously sent the information they had saved.
Failures or issues with these scopes are extremely rare-
1). Nightforce NXS/ATACR/BEAST
2). Bushnell LRHS, HDMR/DMR, ERS, XRS
3). SWFA SS 6x, 10x, 1-6x, 3-9x It had more than 60,000 rounds on it when we/I stopped counting... 3 years ago. , 5-20x
4). S&B fixed 10x PM
5). Hensoldts
6). Older Leupold fixed power Mark 4's/Ultra's
It would be nice to know if any other scopes to add to this list.

SWFA used to do a complete rating of hunting rifle scopes, I believe the last rating chart they did was done around 2010, check out Optics Talk scope ratings.
It was very well done and complete. This is very hard to keep up with but they did a general ranking of scores, from all levels. Ilya Koshkin probably helped with it.

Thanks but I’m interested in a more compete list that has been tested through extensive shooting and use.

Thanks but I’m interested in a more compete list that has been tested through extensive shooting and use. Scopes that show extremely low failure rates in general hunting and shooting- 1). Nightforce SHV/NXS/ATACR/NX8/BEAST 2). SWFA SS 6x/10x/3-15x, and HD scopes 3). S&B fixed 10x PM Scopes that generally work, but with caveats- 4). Bushnell LRHS/LRTS/etc. (relatively low failure rate, however issues did become more common starting a few years ago) 5). German made and assembled S&B PM II scopes 6). S&B Classic line 7). Hendsoldt

I'm lusting after an NX8........
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.
