Asking for a friend.

To be used for a couple snorkel trips on vacation. Budget <$200.

Much resale on these?

Or,
Source for waterproof housings?

He can find one of these for ~ his budget. Great photos and waterproof to 33 ft of depth.

He’s currently looking at a Fujifilm xp120.

Thoughts?

The Olympus has the much better focal length range (starts at 21mm, instead of 28) but the Fujifilm is cheaper.

He’s not that much of a pitcher-taker. Just to seize the underwater opportunity.

I think we have an earlier version of this: https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/compact-digital-cameras/coolpix-w300.html

Good camera, even if it is a Nikon. Takes good pictures, with some distortion in the corners, but pretty good.

Maybe find a used one of those? My fuji experience wasn't great. But it was a cheapo camera too.

This review may help in the decision, although budget is limiting:

The best bet would be the Fuji XP140. Normally $229.99, there is a $70 Instant rebate starting 11/18, that we can factor in now and we will throw in a 32 gig card so it would be $159.99 shipped

Here are the features

Fujinon 5x Optical Zoom Lens
28-140mm (35mm Equivalent)
Water, Shock, Freeze, and Dustproof
UHD 4K and Full HD Video Recording
3.0" 920k-Dot LCD Monitor
Built-In Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE
Geotagging Support and Electronic Level
ISO 100-12800, up to 10-fps Shooting
Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization
