I was left a Savage 210 bolt action shotgun with rifled barrel that is wearing an MIJ Bushnell HIgh Contrast 1.75-4x32, # 73-1420. I'm pretty sure it's about 15-20 years old but looks like it came out of the box, the entire rig looks like it was taken hunting once.

The scope seems well built and the right power for NY shotgun deer hunting but I have to say the adjustments don't seem as crisp as higher end/priced scopes. I'm not too concerned as, since it a slug gun, once it zeroed in at 100 yds it's never going to be moved. I'm more concerned with it holding zero once it's set.

If it was one of the cheaper Chinese made I would just replace it but I thought the Japanese ones were supposed to be pretty good.

Needless worry?

I can't speak for your particular scope but I can speak for the Bushnell Banner 1.5X4.5 #71-1545. We have about a half dozen of them on different slug guns both 12 and 20 gauge.

The Banners we have were made in Korea, don't know if Bushnell ever made any in China.

The Banners are amazingly clear and bright, with exceptional target acquisition on fast moving whitetails on 1.5 power at very close range(like inside of 10 yards).

We have had these scopes for years, sighted in, hunted with and practiced with using a Lead Sled and we have never had any issues nor have we ever had to readjust the scopes after they were initially sighted in.

All this in a scope that costs about $65 at the time we bought them, pretty hard to beat in my opinion.

Bushnell makes a pretty good product for the money and their warranties are excellent. While we've never had a problem with their scopes, my son has had several issues with trail cams in the past and Bushnell has replaced them no problem.

I've had 1.75-4 Trophy XLTs made in Japan and Korea and no issues with either. The ones I bought were designed for shotgun use. Also have 3-9 and 4-12AO. Perfectly usable, if not exactly Alpha optics.

I bought two used like new Japanese Trophy 2x handgun scopes.
One had the crosshairs canted, proly why it like new.
Old warranty was not just for orig purchaser, so sent it back for repair,
Bushnell didn't fix it, send me a reflex sight as replacement.
Which I sold to recoup my money.

Which was then used on the 2nd scope (also purchased from Fleabay).
Its on a .35 rem Contender Super 14.
It clicked right in and holds zero.

Like a 2X but think a 32mm objective looks nicer than a 20mm.
So ditched my Leupold 2X and went w the Bushnell.

Not unhappy.
Proly end up w 4X Leupold, but for deer............and my newb w specialty pistol.......think 2X about it until I get more used to it.

Rifle scopes...........not owned Trophy.
Had Banners before they moved production.
Worked fine but big eyepieces kinda ugly and awkward on some guns.

Shop I worked at sold em.
After the move, several returns.
Enough I can't recommend them.
Dunno if QC got better or not, been years ago.

Ran a couple of the 1.5-5X or whatever on slug guns in 12 ga, Held up fine.
But they were the old ones.
