...best looking....

Hard to beat an El Paso Saddlery Austin or Threepersons holster that has been nicely carved or basket stamped...put it with a matching belt and you have the ultimate in a BBQ setup...

I agree. I like the Tom Threepersons a lot.

For me,

This hand carved Milt Sparks is my "Bucket List" holster.

Beautiful! Wish they went with one of my shemaghs.

Great Pics, Mackay...

Might you have a shot of the back of your holster?

I also appreciate the links given above.

Seems like I should be able to name a half dozen or so custom or top end makers, but my brain cramps up after Sparks, Rosen, and Barranti.

Can't say that I've seen exactly what I want yet but Mackay's rig is likely the closest.

What about full on custom makers? Any of note in business?

I am traveling for work at the moment, but when I get home in a few days I can. It is a standard 200AW type configuration in regards to build type.

This is not that exact holster, but another 200AW for a 5" N Frame that I have had, and used for years.

In fact it shows the old "Idaho City" stamp, which hasn't been used for 20+ years.

Another one of the carved rig:

Thanks Mackay,

Is that hammer/rear sight shroud ever in the way of clearing the holster?

Field Grade & SJ,

doesn't appear that the Bianchi Lawman is made to fit an N Frame...

Not at all.

As you might tell from the pics of the 5" rig, it has a lot of miles and thousand of presentations from it, and they work well. They are very well built rigs that have been refined over the years. In fact a group of us were up at an industry professional's house who lives around Salmon Idaho a few weeks back and were discussing the evolution of this holster. Someone had sent a very early version to the VP of Milt Sparks (who was also there), and I listened to some of the evolution of the holster from Elmer Keith's use, to the FBI's Hank Sloan's input, to today's version.

I thought I had seen all of EPS's holsters til EdM posted.

I do believe I need more than one holster. Wanna do an EPS similar to EdM's, and I better get an AW 200 for a K frame.

And here I am with no firm plans yet.

The 629 now lives here, and being in need of a holster I ordered a cheap 5bh Bianchi from midway. Also ordered decelerator grips, just to use shooting up full house loads for brass.

It'd be great to get 2 days off consecutively and play a little...

Liking the 5BHL for my 629...keeps snow out of the muzzle.
